Offices located at: Lincoln - 43 Gerald Street Rolleston - 80A Rolleston Ave Christchurch - 225 Papanui Rd Local dance studio Danz Fit, recently attended the Greymouth Competition Society’s 106th Annual Festival of Dance, held from the 5th - 9th of October, at the Regent Theatre in Greymouth. This event caters for Ballet, Tap and Modern dancers, attracting dancers from around the South Island. Danz Fit took eight students ranging from 7 to 13 years of age. Principal Director Leisa Yaxley said, “It was great to be back at the competition, which had been previously cancelled for the last two years due to Covid. Teams: 1st: Jazz Team 10 yrs & under 1st: Contemporary 14 yrs & under 1st: Lyrical Team 14 yrs & under 1st: Musical Theatre open age group 2nd: Jazz Team 14 yrs & under 3rd: Tap Team 14 yrs & under. Tessa Dalley was also awarded the Aggregate Trophy for 14 years and under, highest overall points in Modern dance and the Chanelle Hickmott Trophy for a dancer who displays a passion for Musical theatre. an outstanding achievement. Well done to all the above dancers, as well as Darfield local, Charli Maley from Sharon Howells School of Dance who also attended the competition.
