Matariki At Playcentre
Darfield Playcentre has been busy celebrating Matariki this term with stories, crafts and a whanau shared morning tea. Families also donated food items which the tamariki transported down to the Community Pantry for those in need. Matariki is all about whanau, sharing food, and for us at Playcentre, manaakitanga (looking after others). The children just loved being involved by adding their kai donation to our kete and then pulling the wagon down to the Community Pantry and loading it up. Playcentre families also enjoyed a visit from the General Manager of Playcentre Aotearoa, David Moger, last week. This was an opportunity to show off our thriving rural Playcentre and share some grassroots stories about why Playcentre is so special for its members and the wider community. David was particularly impressed with the high number of families we have enrolled across five days of the week and enjoyed interacting with our tamariki.
