Sixth Form
We like our Sixth Form pupils to look smart and set a good example to the Lower School. Your son may have other ideas as to what he should wear in the Sixth Form but what follows is the official and enforced version.
Suits
These should be business suits of a classic design, not bought as separates, and in traditional materials, not velvet, corduroy or linen. Tweed is acceptable. You may choose dark charcoal grey, black or navy blue - with a faint pinstripe or subtle check if you wish. Lighter colours are not acceptable and greys appear to be particularly difficult to get right - grey suits must be dark. Trousers should fit on the waist or just below, not at ‘hipster’ level so that shirts remain tucked in. Except during warmer weather, a jacket must be always worn when at school. Ideally each boy should have two suits (with washable trousers if you can get them).
Shirts
Again of classic design, to be worn with a tie of boys’ choice, shirts may be striped, checked or plain in light colours to be worn with the suit. Short sleeves are permissible in the summer months. Any t-shirts worn for extra warmth should remain invisible.
Sweaters
In colder weather a classic fine knit sweater or cardigan may be worn with the shirt and jacket. These can be flat v-neck, crew neck, cardigan or smart quarter-zip jumper of any single colour (not striped or any other pattern).
Shoes
Should be of polished black leather, polished dark brown leather, or smart black suede. Boat shoes, trainers and walking boots are not acceptable.
Notes
Coats
If an overcoat is needed during inclement weather, this should be of a formal cut and of one dark colour (black, navy blue or dark grey) it should be 3/4 to full length.
Padded jackets, hoods and fur trims are not suitable for school. The picture shows an example of an acceptable coat. Sixth Form pupils can also choose an overcoat, puffer jacket (which can also be used for sport) or a gilet from the Malvern College new school uniform range. Jewellery
One ring may be worn and one bracelet or memory band. Earrings, nose studs, or other visible pierced items are not permitted.
Hair
Must be appropriately styled for school and kept clean and brushed. Long or unruly hair is not acceptable, neither is very short shaved hair. There seems to be a fashion for boys to have hair shaved very short at the sides and long on the top. This is not acceptable for school. Hair must be off the collar Unnatural colours are not permitted.
Leisure clothes
Must be machine-washable and able to be tumble-dried. Occasionally, boys in the Sixth Form require smart leisure clothes which are suitable for less formal visits to the theatre, concerts, dining out and similar occasions where jeans and t-shirts are not appropriate. Parents are advised that pupils should not bring high-value clothing items to school.
All clothes, including boots, shoes and leisure clothing, must be sent in good condition and repair, CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE BOY’S NAME, INITIALS AND HOUSE. Bed linen is provided by the College.

We like our Sixth Form pupils to look smart and set a good example to the Lower School. Your daughter may have other ideas as to what she should wear in the Sixth Form but what follows is the official and enforced version.
Suits
These should be business suits of a classic design, not bought as separates, and in traditional materials, not velvet, corduroy or linen. Tweed is acceptable. You may choose black, dark charcoal grey or navy blue - with a faint pinstripe or subtle check if you wish. Lighter colours are not acceptable. The jacket can be worn with either skirt, culottes or trousers. Skirts should be on the knee if short and mid-calf if longer; they should not have revealing splits either at the sides or back, nor should they have lace or pleated hems. Skirts must not be heavily Lycra based - i.e. they must be smart and not too tight. Both skirts and trousers should fit on the waist or just below, not at ‘hipster’ level so that blouses remain tucked in. Belts must be plain and buckles should not be ostentatious. Trousers must be tailored, i.e. they must not be too tight or resemble leggings or ‘jeggings’. Except during warmer weather, a jacket must be always worn when at school. Ideally each girl should have two suits for weekly wear (washable trousers and skirts if you can get them).
Blouses/Shirts
Again of classic design, with a collar, to be worn open necked, they may be striped or checked as well as plain but we do prefer light colours to be worn with dark suits. Most blouses must be tucked in, no exposed midriffs, please. Only approved blouses with a designed hem line that sit below the waistline may be untucked. Short sleeves are permissible in the summer months. Any t-shirts worn for extra warmth should remain invisible. Blouses must have appropriate necklines.
Notes
Sweaters

These can be flat v-neck, crew neck, cardigan or smart quarter-zip jumper of any single colour (not striped or any other pattern). Sixth Formers may wear a fine knit (not ribbed) plain-coloured polo necked sweater in place of the shirt and v-neck if they wish. Chunky knit or ribbed sweaters with large, or cowl, collars are not acceptable.

Shoes
Classic design, not too pointed at the toe, with heels appropriate to the campus, no higher than 5cm and sturdy, not metal tipped kitten heels or stilettos. Platform shoes, black trainers, “wedges” and deck-shoes are not permitted. The base of the heel should cover a 5 pence piece. Whilst leather or suede are acceptable, shoes must be smart. Also, shoes with a higher front are desirable; ‘court’ shoes have a very short life here on the hillside in the winter rain.

Sixth Form
Jewellery
Girls may wear a wristwatch, a fine neck chain, one bracelet, one matching pair of small earrings in the ear lobes and one ring. If additional earrings are worn, they should be small studs. Nose studs, numerous earrings or other visible pierced items are not permitted. Jewellery should not be of significant value.
Hair and Make-Up
Hair should be of a natural colour, and the face must be fully visible. Discreet, natural looking make-up and clear or natural nail polish is acceptable. Heavy eye make-up and false nails are not permitted.
All clothes, including shoes and leisure clothing, must be in good condition and repair, clearly marked with the girl’s name, initials and House. Bed linen is provided by the College.
Leisure clothes
May be worn when school dress is not required. Leisure clothes should be of a kind which does not require special washing and must be marked. They should be clean and in good repair

Sports bras are now a required part of our school sports kit. To ensure all pupils have access to a properly fitted sports bra, we have partnered with PEBE, the market leading sports bra brand for schools.
PEBE will deliver an educational talk, which will be followed by a measuring & fitting session for all pupils on 15 & 16 September 2025. Please note, all girls will be expected to join the educational talk and all girls will be given time to take advantage of the measuring service.
