Runway Ready: From Classroom to Cover Story

Earlier this year, Fashion Design Scholar Evelyn Y earnt herself a major feature in Selin Art Magazine for her innovative fashion design. Selin Art Magazine, based in the Netherlands, explores high-end beauty and fashion, showcasing stories of individuals all around the world and celebrating diverse fashion designs that express unique identities.
Evelyn’s striking design ‘Inferno’ brilliantly captures society’s obsession with screens and devices, in a contemporary echo of Dante’s inferno - where fixation instead lay in deities. Evelyn’s feature recognises her emerging talent on a global platform and follows impressive accolades including being shortlisted for the Forbes China Top 100 Young Artists and named as a Pearson Edexcel Featured Artist.
Welcome Message
At this time of year, across the Malvern family of schools, we pause to reflect on the growth and achievements of our pupils. Once again, our school community has shown that education is far more than the acquisition of knowledge - it is a journey shaped by character, creativity, resilience and purpose.
Over the past year, our pupils have continued to thrive in all aspects of school life. Academically, they have faced the rigours of examinations with determination and diligence, embodying the Malvernian spirit of intellectual curiosity and personal ambition. Whether sitting GCSEs, A-levels or the IB, they have demonstrated not only academic knowledge but also integrity, discipline and the confidence to think independently. These moments of assessment offer a glimpse into their potential - nurtured through years of guided discovery in supportive learning environments.
As communicators, our pupils have excelled in music recitals, theatre productions, debating competitions and art exhibitionsboth physical and virtual. They have showcased their creativity in fashion design and embroidery. In sport, they have participated in a wide range of competitive disciplines, from figure skating to shot put, gymnastics to skiing, dance to rugby. Through outdoor adventure activities, they have grown as team builders, explorers and path finders.
We are especially proud of their contributions to charity and community events, where they have demonstrated compassion, a strong sense of global citizenship and innovative thinking through their engagement with AI and robotics. It is in these diverse arenas that confidence is built, leadership is nurtured and lifelong passions are discovered.
This edition captures the essence of what it means to be a Malvernian: learners, leaders and individuals of character. May it serve as both a celebration of the year gone by and an inspiration for all that lies ahead.
