BACKSTAGE WITH THE PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Intermission is finally over. After more than a year, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is back to bring you live theatre in a safe, fun, and unforgettable way! I am so grateful that we have reached this moment, and that you have joined us for our production of I Hate Hamlet. We owe many thanks to The Benjamin School for their partnership in helping us bring this production to life while we put the finishing touches on our newly renovated and expanded building. I would like to recognize the talented and hardworking staff of the Theatre, from the small team of 12 who carried the Theatre through its closure in 2020 to the new faces we have welcomed onboard to help us ramp back up to reopening. I also would like to acknowledge our supportive Board of Directors and all those who donated to our Stand By Us campaign to keep the Theatre going during our downtime. The best way that you can support the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is to bring your friends! Ticket purchases directly support all of the talented individuals who bring our shows to life. But more than that, we want to share our Grand Reopening Season with everyone! We hope you will enjoy our lineup of feel-good, funny, and toe-tapping shows this season for this year of celebration. We also have a number of one-night only events, featuring some of the best tribute bands from around the country, which are sure to please! We cannot wait to welcome you back into our Theatre for our next production: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. We are so happy to see you again. On behalf of the entire Maltz Jupiter Theatre team, we hope you enjoy the show!

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre used the downtime created by the pandemic to complete the construction of a renovated and expanded 60,000 square foot building. To accomplish this project phase, we combined Act II (the production center/new stage) and Act III (the exterior of the Goldner Conservatory and Second Space). But there is still some work to be done. To complete the theatre, we must complete our fundraising to finish the interiors of the Second Space, the Goldner Conservatory, and Scene.

SECOND SPACE

This 199-seat flexible theatre space will allow us to diversify the types of work the Maltz Jupiter Theatre can present. Our plans include producing dramatic plays and new work that are better suited for intimate spaces instead of our larger stage.

HEALTH, SAFET At the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, it is extremely important that our patrons are not only safe, but feel safe. The Theatre has implemented a number of safety and security protocols, both seen and unseen, that help ensure your well-being. In addition to feeling safe, we want you to be informed in the case of any emergency. As a responsible organization, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre wants our patrons empowered to enjoy the performance or event and as good corporate citizens, we encourage people to report suspicious activity. If you see something, say something… IMMEDIATELY. We will respond to your concerns. The Theatre works closely with the industry professional and local first-responders to offer a safe environment. Because the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is committed to ensuring the safety of all guests; large bags, packages, and backpacks are not permitted. All persons and bags are subject to search before entering the building and/or during their stay on property. Weapons of any kind are prohibited. Always listen for fire alarms and overhead announcements from Theatre personnel.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND DURING AN EMERGENCY: EVACUATION In the case of an evacuation, please exit via the nearest safe exit/egress. You should locate all exits/egress long before an emergency. As you enter any building you should always make plans for your exit and reunification with your companions. Our exits are denoted by lighted exit signs. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES Seek assistance from a Theatre usher or staff member in the case of a medical emergency. A number of our staff and volunteers are trained in CPR and can be identified with a CPR pin on their vest. First Aid kits are located around the Theatre and are accessible by staff when necessary. In the case of a cardiac emergency, Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) are located in the Theatre’s main lobby, Theatre’s orchestra level on Entry Left and Entry Right, Second Space lobby, Green Room Club Level and other back of house locations. ACTIVE SHOOTER In an active shooter situation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security recommends the following: • Always be aware of your surroundings and any possible dangers. • Take note of the two nearest exits in any facility you visit. • If you are in an office or room, stay there and secure the door, if possible. • If you are in an interior common area or hallway, try to get into a room and secure the door, if possible. • If you are unable to secure yourself in a safe place, attempt to exit the building and find safety. • As a last resort, attempt to take action against the shooter/aggressor. If the shooter/ aggressor is at close range and you cannot flee, your chance of survival is much greater if you try to incapacitate the shooter/aggressor with justifiable and reasonable force. • Call 9-1-1 when it is safe to do so. Simply put, the recommended response to these types of situations are to RUN, HIDE and/or FIGHT. • Run – If possible, attempt to evacuate the premises to safety. Run if you can. • Hide – If evacuation is not an option, find a place to cover and hide. Hide if possible. • Fight – As a last resort, attempt to legally disrupt, defend, and/or incapacitate the aggressor. 42 Fight only if you must.
