The precision agriculture journey starts at the upcoming VRT farmer workshop! Led by technical experts Sean Mason and Peter Treloar, participants will experience an interactive and hands-on session tailored to their individual situations. Not only will they learn to create or utilise their own data layers, but also understand how to generate soil zones within paddocks, decide on variable rate fertiliser application, and gain the confidence to utilise prescription maps in machinery. Part 1 will provide Millewa farmers with valuable information to make the right cropping preparation decisions for season 2023. The workshop kicks off with an MSF research update with presentations from technical experts on the latest trial results from ‘22, including legume varieties and agronomy, deep ripping trials and more! As part of a Future Drought Fund project, farmers can learn about a new opportunity to receive a complimentary paddock mapped using EM38, free paddock soil tests and guidance on variable rate technologies: allowing farmers to get the most out of their fertiliser inputs and achieve good crop establishment on erosion prone soils.
