erika HögLund, född 1971 i Boda i Småland, är uppväxt i en konstnärsfamilj där glaskonsten varit ett bärande tema. Hon fascinerades redan som barn av glasblåsarnas artisteri med den glödande massan. Med detta arv och sin egen fantasi söker Erika nya vägar att ge utlopp för sitt skapande. För Målerås skapar hon den nya tidens föremål i kristall i form av skulpturer, skålar, vaser, fat och mycket mer.

Erika Höglund was born in Sweden in 1971 into a family of artists, where glass and design played an important role in everyday life. As a child she was fascinated by the teamwork that existed between the glassblower and the designer and what they could achieve by working together on glowing crystal. With this background and a fiercely independent and often wild and fantastic streak of creativity, Erika has opened up completely new perspectives in what can be achieved in the medium of crystal.

Ludvig Löfgren har en lång gedigen utbildning och erfarenhet inom både konst och glashantverk. Han har bland annat en examen från Hovedskou Fine Painting School och Konstfack i Stockholm. Sin hantverksutbildning har han bland annat fått på glasskolorna i Kosta och Orrefors. Genom sitt unika formspråk tar han det traditionella svenska glaset in i framtiden. Ludvig Löfgren är sedan augusti 2013 knuten till Målerås Glasbruk. ”Hantverket i alla delar är mitt språk. Det genomsyrar allt jag gör,” säger Ludvig Löfgren.

Ludvig Löfgren has a long and solid education and experience of both art and glass handicraft. He has among other things a degree from Hovedskou’s Fine Painting School and the College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. He has obtained his handicraft education at the Glass Schools in Kosta and Orrefors. With his unique design he takes the traditional Swedish glass into the future. Since August 2013 Ludvig Löfgren is one of Målerås Glassworks’ designers. “The handicraft is, in all its parts, the way I express myself. It is visible in all I create,” says Ludvig Löfgren.

robert Ljubez kom till Sverige från krigets Bosnien 1992. Erfarenheter av gravering och teckning i kombination med konstnärlig begåvning gav honom 1996 anställning på glasbruket i Målerås. Först som gravör, men han blev snart formgivaren Mats Jonassons högra hand. Denna tid har givit honom viktig kunskap om glasets oanade möjligheter.

After escaping the horrors of war in Bosnia, Robert Ljubez ended up in Sweden at the end of 1992. Experiences from engraving and drawing in combination with an artistic talent led to a job at the Glassworks in 1996. At first, Robert Ljubez worked as an engraver, but he soon became Mats Jonasson’s right hand man. Robert’s time at Målerås Glasbruk has provided him with invaluable knowledge of the unexpected possibilities there are in working with crystal.

Tidigt uppmärksammades Mats Jonassons tecknartalang och han började arbeta som gravörlärling vid glasbruket redan 1959. Under följande decennier arbetade han med flera av samtidens stora glaskonstnärer. Han utvecklade samtidigt den naturnära stil som han sedan dess förfinat till fulländning. “Våra skogar har sedan urminnes tider påverkat folksjälen”, säger Mats Jonasson. Inspirerad av denna natur har han med öppna sinnen skapat sina särpräglade objekt i kristall. Idag är glasbrukets son representerad över hela världen.

Mats Jonasson’s talent as a designer attracted attention early on, when he started work as an apprentice engraver at the glassworks in 1959. Over the next few decades he worked with many of the most respected contemporary glass artists in Sweden. During this period, he developed that natural style of his which he’s since perfected. “Our forests have captured the hearts and minds of people since time immemorial”, says Mats. Inspired by the natural world around him, he has opened his mind to create his distinctive masterpieces in the finest Swedish crystal. Nowadays, this son of the glassworks is represented all over the world.
