“Back on the road” ….. continuing on with my mission!

Recently I had a major mechanical breakdown for the first time in a long time, in fact it stopped me dead in my tracks ,out on the road and I couldn’t keep going.

I spent the night camped on the side of the highway and this morning after standing on top of the plane the previous day to get reception reached out and fortunately Geraldton Towing Services came all the way out to pick me up and take me to Geraldton where I was originally heading to get some various other repairs done before I head across the Nullarbor in the coming months.

I cannot thank not only the men from Geraldton towing enough and to Allan who came out with his hiab to pluck the gyrocopter off the tractor to enable it to be transported as it was intended to be on the truck. As a result of this breakdown I will be in Geraldton for the next 2-3 weeks at Geraldton Towing whilst repairs take place as well as general work after 11,500kms of travel that we’ve done so far as you can imagine a few things need to be done.

“Donations Record”

Pleased to say that I think I’ve beaten my previous record for fundraising over a month travelling with The Great Moscow Circus here in Cannington by raising $2,839.70 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service!

Favourite things in life

One of my favourite things about the life I live is the diversity of it, to sum it up. One minute I can be dressed neatly meeting someone such as the Premier at an awards ceremony in a city and then a week later be in the middle of nowhere out on the road cooking up a feed in jeans covered in grease and oil listening to road trains roaring through the night after shaking my tins throughout the day fundraising.

The fact that I have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life from those who are doing well and those not so much, to get to listen to people from all walks of society and to make connections with them all and hear their stories.

Be a real “Mate”

Make sure that you look after your matesTreat them all well!.

There are no places for bullies or abusers.

It’s such an awe inspiring country that I’m lucky enough to live in and I can’t help but appreciate each and every day no matter how hot or how good or bad it is that I am Australian.
