Maleny Skate Park Upgrade

The Maleny skate park halfpipe will be replaced

with a brand new eight-metre-wide half pipe that will be constructed and completed just in time for the summer school holidays. Due to age and safety concerns, the extremely popular existing metal half pipe, adjacent to the main concrete skate park within the Maleny Showgrounds, will be demolished this month.

The new eight-metre-wide half pipe will feature four-to-five-foot transitions and a high performance Skatelite wear surface.

Tenders for this project have now closed, and work is expected to commence in the coming months.

We have worked closely with the Maleny community on this project. These free recreational facilities for youth, families and the young-at-heart are so important to support physical and mental health. The main concrete skate park within the showgrounds remains open for action.

Maleny District Sports & Recreation Club AGM

The Maleny Men’s Shed Group have been asking me for quite some time for a Queensland Flag. I have now been able to present one to Maleny Men’s Shed member, Mr Ray Hegerty a Queensland flag!

What perfect weather on both days at the Maleny Show where I caught up with BLUEY AND BINGO.

That was just one of the many thrills of the show.

Maleny Seed and Harvest Swap

The Maleny Seed and Harvest Swap, part of the Maleny Seed Library, gives community members the opportunity to swap produce which is surplus to their needs. These seeds are from local and heirloom fruit and vegetable varieties that might otherwise be lost

Hope to see it flying proudly at their complex in the grounds of the Maleny Historical Museum.

Have you seen how the roadworks on Maleny-Kenilworth Road are looking? The road is already 10x better.

This helps to eliminate waste, make sure everyone can have a bit of what they need and encourage people to grow more food in their backyard

Some Telstra Upgrades in Maleny area!

Following representations I made to Telstra last month regarding mobile reception in Maleny, I have been provided with information about upcoming upgrades in your area.

A project is underway to expand the 4G and 5G at the Maleny base station. These upgrades will commence 13 June 23 and may take up to two weeks to complete. The upgrades will require work to be carried out throughout daylight hours and technicians will need to turn off some sectors for the purposes of the upgrade.
