Paula and Bridgette Powers rescue work with the sea birds has always been their life for nearly 20 years. In caring for the birds creates a long list of regular costs for food and medication for their patients. On top of that there is $500 a week for rent on their rehabilitation centre. Now, the owner has decided to sell the property forcing a tough decision on the Twinnies. Paula said, “It’s serious and to be honest, if we can’t raise the $100,000 we will probably have to close. Our rent has increased signi cantly over the last little while placing us in this situation.” We’ve been thinking about what our other options are and to be honest, we’ve come to the conclusion that this is our base and it
