This book is a tribute to all the people I have met throughout my life as a fashion designer, who have seen with their own eyes the pain, frustration, and injustice.
Fashion is also a very beautiful business, providing employment to many people and one that can be conducted more equitably. Historically, countless women have made their way with a sewing machine, allowing them to feel independent, free, and empowered.
However, it is an industry that needs healing, and it requires everyone's help to do so. Society must develop a deeper awareness of the negative impacts it generates.
Doing something is always better than doing nothing.
