Donate blood and save up to three lives.” That is just one of multiple reasons to donate blood according to www.givelife.org. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion totaling to nearly five million people every year. Blood donation, among one of the best causes one can contribute to, is an event hosted at many schools in addition to most hospitals. This year, Malden High School held their annual blood drive on the morning Dec. 11, 2008 in the Finn Gym. HIS YEAR the Malden High School football team learned that even though there might be problems, they should never give up. As the historic Thanksgiving Day rivalry with Medford continues, Malden leads Medford 57-54-10 for the 121st game. During the season, five players, consisting of tri-captains David Freni, Michael Gilardi, and Marcos Almeida, along with players Lucas Ingemi, and Ricky Walsh stood on the sidelines due to injuries.
