The aim of this graduation thesis is to determine how the intangible aspects such as place attachment and identity can be imbibed into the physical spaces of the environment surrounding the older people. It focusses on the understanding of the links between the tangible spaces and different feelings that are evoked within those spaces. Various theories of environmental psychology- Space, Place, Sense of Place , Place attachment are studied. Furthermore, it investigates the user perspective of how older people perceive space to formulate the guidelines for the Research based Design.
