Abarbanel Alsace (North of France)

Abarbanel is the first name in kosher Alsatian wines. We created the category more than 20 years ago when we made the first kosher wines from this acclaimed white wine region along the Rhine. Our wines are the unquestioned Alsace kosher leaders. All made from Old Vines (40+ years) all hand-harvested, hand-crafted, limited production, non-Mevushal with the same winemakers since the early 90s. The 2015 vintages are on the market for Lemminade Gewurztraminer and Riesling in sharp new packaging designed to attract the Gen-X and Millennial consumer – crisp, fruity and fun whites that compliment any cuisine! 90 Points – Gold Medal – “Exceptional,” according to Tastings.com/World Wine Championships for our Gewurztraminer. Riesling: “The Abarbanel is an old vine Alsatian dry Riesling and is a steal for a wine that is earthy, dry, acidic, crisp, and all the good qualities of an Alsatian Riesling… it is a great wine and an honor that we get to sell it. Even last night I brought it to a Chanukah party and amongst five or six other more expensive bottles it was the hit of the night.” - Ari Lockspeiser, Kosherwine.com

Abarbanel Languedoc (South of France)

Abarbanel 25th Anniversary Reserve Rouge To commemorate Abarbanel’s 25th Anniversary in 2017 we produced this 2016 vintage Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Merlot (35%) made from grapes grown and harvested at the single Les Terres Noires vineyard in the Aude River Valley in the South of France. Aged in French Oak for four months this wine is Unfiltered and Non-Mevushal. The wine has bing cherry notes with touches of coffee, tobacco and light tannins for an easy finish. Very limited production and allocation. Beautiful packaging. Abarbanel Chardonnay ’90 made its debut for Passover 1992 – it was one of the very first quality kosher varietals and has been a leader in the unoaked Chard category ever since. Made in the White Burgundy style, our 26th Anniversary Vintage (’16) will be entering the market for Passover '18. Abarbanel Chard has a Silver Medal and a “Best Buy” designation from Tastings.com/World Wine Championships. Recent vintages were rated among the Top 10 Kosher Wine Values in America and have even won medals in Europe. Crisp, clean with citrus, apples, pears and pineapple notes, this wine is a perennial favorite. Mevushal. Single Vineyard Designation – hand harvested, small batch production. Unfiltered is the word for Abarbanel Cabernet Sauvignon. Our 2015 and 2016 vintages are out and is full of ripe black cherry fruit with a touch of tobacco and very moderate tannins so they're ready to drink right now. Great with any kind of beef, veal, lamb or poultry. Even tuna steaks. A fabulous casual wine for everyday enjoyment. Sharp, upscale contemporary packaging. Single Vineyard Designation and the same winemaker since our 1994 vintage! Hand harvested and produced in small batches. Mevushal. Popularly priced with a suggested retail below $15 at maximum markup. A solid consumer value. Abarbanel legacy varietals are always a win-win-win for the distributor, retailer and consumer.

Abarbanel: Family of Eminence The Abarbanel name has represented nobility for over five centuries. Don Isaac Abarbanel, known as “The Abarbanel” was the leader of Sephardic Jewry before the exile from Spain in 1492. He was a revered Torah (bible) scholar who also served as Chief Minister to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain and as royal councilor to kings in Portugal, Naples and Venice. Today, the esteemed Abarbanel name continues to represent the very best. Abarbanel Wines are emblazoned with the coat-of-arms awarded to Don Isaac in the 15th Century and have been produced by Don Isaac's descendants for the past 25 years.
