day’s meeting about the business he founded. “Our mission is more about using boxing as a platform to support people to empower them to fight to relieve stress, number one; to fight things like depression, to better their health, and most importantly, mental toughness to achieve better outcomes in their personal and professional life,” he said. Selectmen voted 5-0 in support of EverybodyFights’ request for a special permit to allow a personal fitness establishment to be located at 855 Broadway, Suite 2 – the commercial retail space in front of the Avalon Bay housing development on Route 1 South in Saugus.

EverybodyFights plans to open by mid-March or early April, according to Foreman. Features and benefits of EverybodyFights at Hilltop include: • 4,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art fitness facility • full-size boxing ring • Three classes, including TRAIN, MITTS and RECOVER • Open gym space, including free weights, boxing bags, functional equipment and treadmills • Personal training and small group training • Luxury amenities, including pro shop, bathrooms, lockers, changing area, towel service and toiletries.

Lisa Poto discusses her longtime passion for yoga and how it led to a free class she teaches at the library Editor’s Note: For this week, we sat down with Lisa Poto, who teaches “The Yoga Experience” several times a month at the Saugus Public Library. Leading the free class is a fulfillment of a dream to share her longtime passion with others. Poto, a Revere native and 1982 Revere High School graduate, graduated in May 2018 from Barre & Soul’s 200hour yoga teacher training program in Melrose. In addition to the free yoga class she leads at the Saugus Public Library, Poto teaches several classes at Sweet Balance Yoga Studio & Spa in Wakefield. After High School, she attended classes at North Shore Community College and later began teaching preschool. She got married and moved to Saugus about 22 years ago. Her husband Mark retired last year from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. Their son, Michael, lives with them at their Saugus home. Highlights of this week’s interview follow.

GOOD CANDIDATES FOR YOGA? “If you’re dealing with anxiety, if you’re feeling overwhelmed in life and need to take a breath, or if you are feeling like you are being judged” – Lisa Poto says these are a few good reasons for practicing yoga. (Saugus Advocate Photo by Mark E. Vogler)
