My name is Curtis Bomar and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Henry County Fair Livestock Show and Sale. It is a full day of Henry County 4-Her’s exhibiting their market projects that they have worked with for months. This year, I am showing my steer, Spud. He is a purebred shorthorn steer that I raised on my family’s farm out of my favorite cow. I like to name the calves out of this cow after potatoes, so that is how Spud got his name. Spud has grown a lot since he was born in the spring of 2025. Spud has done really well in the show ring so far. He was the Reserve Champion Shorthorn Steer at Agribition and the TN Beef Expo. I am excited to show him off at the Henry County Fair. Please join us for the day and consider staying for the sale.

Hutson: Sophomore at HC High School Showing a lamb Name: Wooly Wonka

My name is Ruby McClure I am currently serving as the secretary on the Henry County Junior Livestock Association board. This is my fourth year with a project animal for the fair and I will be exhibiting my Mainetainer steer, MC Hammer, at the Henry County Fair this year!

This will be Zephyr’s 4th year showing a Market Lamb at the fair. This year she has a wether named Lil Dude. Zephyr is 13 years old, homeschooling at this time in Henry County. We got the little Dude from our usual farm in Union City, LSS Farms. He is named after his sire The Dude. We got him as a 6 week old bottle lamb and he has grown to a big 130lbs. plus! He is now 7 months old. They like to sprint across the front porch together for exercise I will be showing my steer, Sparky. He is a shorthorn plus that I raised out of one of my former show cows. Since I AI my own cattle, you could say that Sparky and I have been together from conception. Sparky was born in February of 2025 during a severe cold snap. I was not expecting him quite yet and was surprised to find him on that cold morning, however, his seasoned mother decided to have him in the mud. He was cold and was not registering a temperature. I brought him into our heated shop and began warming him. When his temperature reached to a normal level, I was able to bottle feed him colostrum. When he was strong enough, I tried to put him back with his mother but due to all the stress she had decided he was not her baby. After many sessions in the chute allowing Sparky to nurse, they finally figured it out and he is set to finish close to 1350 pounds.

Sparky has been a fun steer for my final year aging out as a senior. We have traveled many miles together with one of my proudest moments of him being

Hayden Hutson: Senior at HC High School Showing a steer Henry County Born and Bred Angus Cross Name: Brown Sugar My name is Gloria Schultz this is the first year that I am able to show an animal at the Henry County Fair! I chose to show a lamb because I’ve previously shown a lamb in the pre-4h show. It’s a lot different raising my own animal...caring for it, grooming it, and showing it in the ring! My lamb is on the smaller side, which is perfect since this is my first year. I hope to see you out at the fair!

Grey Mixon is in the 8th grade at Lakewood. This is her 4th year showing in the Henry County Youth Livestock Show. She is a member of the 4-H Honor Club and FFA. Her steer’s name is Dr. Pepper. Each year, Grey donates a portion of her steer’s sale to send a kid to 4-H camp. Please let me know if I need to include any further information. Thank you so much for supporting our kiddos! My siblings have shown hogs in the past and they are helping me along. Hogs are so smart, even though they’re kind of messy! The last two years I’ve shown a lamb and I have loved my time in the show ring. I look forward to showing my hog at the fair and learning all about porcine showmanship.

My name is Jozlyn Zeiler and this is my second year exhibiting goats. I have two Boer goats this year named Corey and Topanga. I have enjoyed growing the bond between us and working with them the past few months. We have participated at the UTM goat show and The Eiffel Tower Classic. Placing well in both showmanship classes. While participating in our Market and Commercial Doe classes we placed fairly well at UT Martin but as for Eiffel Tower Classic our competition was stronger and we didn’t place as high. I would love to invite each and everyone of you Thursday, August 27th to enjoy all of the livestock shows at the Henry County Fair grounds.

My name is Silas Bomar and I have just completed my first year of 4-H. That also means this is my first year to show a steer at the Henry County Fair. I could not have had a better partner than my steer, Diesel. He was born on my family’s farm and I am really glad that

one of my brothers did not choose him. I have worked really hard to train Diesel for the show ring. I have already taken him to several shows, including the TN Beef Expo where he was the Shorthorn Breed Champion Steer, 5th place Explorer Showmanship, and the Premier Explorer Steer Exhibitor. I was so proud of him!! I would like to invite you to the Henry County Fair to watch me and Diesel in action along with all the other 4-Her’s that have worked hard with their projects. I am really excited to show Diesel off because he has been the best steer ever!

Painter years

old.

Buffalo and Bison are the names of her 4-H projects. She purchased Buffalo with her earnings from last year and Bison was born and raised at her family farm. Leighann started showing goats

in 3rd grade. She

is excited to show case her projects at the fair.

My name: Claire J. Lee About me: This will be my 4th year showing a hog. I am very proud of my 4-H animals and the hard work I have put in to get them ready for the fair every year. I love church, cheer, being a part of school programs like Beta and Best Buddies, being outside, driving my stick shift car around the land where I raise my animals, spending time with my friends and family, and helping others. My plans for profits from selling Earl at the fair: In 2024 I bought a 2001 VW Beetle, I named her Brittany. I plan to get her into good shape by 2029, when I am old enough to drive on the road. I also have a toy poodle named Tucker. I buy his food & accessories, and pay his vet & grooming bills. I also plan to save for the expenses during my college years that will not be covered by scholarships and grants.
