his year has been tough on us all!

The 4th of July weekend is upon us, typically marked by fireworks over the ocean, up and down our coastline. That will not be the scene this year.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten public health and restrict our lives and businesses. Social unrest is elevated and people seem to be more divided than ever. But still‌.the things that Independence Day represents remain and we are thankful for them all.

America, even with all its problems, is still the best place to live, raise a family, or follow your dream.

America is known as the land of the free.

We can speak our minds and stand up (or kneel down) in a peaceful protest for change. We have the freedom of speech, religion, press, and the right to vote.

America offers diversity. Our history is rich because it is made up of immigrants from other countries, who brought along their cultures and diversity.

America offers practically endless opportunities. With hard work, there is no limit to what we can achieve. As an American, we can get an education and have the opportunity to do whatever we want to do with our life. We are free to pursue our dreams.

Bob and I have a renewed appreciation for the opportunities we are afforded in this country. We spent most of our lives working for other people. But when we decided to start our own business, we knew that such a leap would not have been possible in many other countries.

Our freedoms came at a great cost.

We owe our forefathers, military and veterans our deepest gratitude.

Ventnor touts state's longest ocean fishing pier

T

he Ventnor City fishing pier is located at Cambridge Avenue and the Boardwalk, in Ventnor. At 1000 feet, it is the longest of the state’s ocean fishing piers!

In June 2020, the ribbon was cut on new mens, womens and family restrooms along with an office for the pier master.

The Ventnor Fishing pier is open 24 hours a day for fishing and sightseeing.

If you're looking to just enjoy the ocean breeze and take in the sights, the Ventnor fishing pier boasts benches to relax or meet with some friends.

And when you reel in the catch of the day, there are cleaning tables. Do you enjoy fishing at night? There's also lighting for nighttime fishing.

There are fees to access the locked part of the pier designated for fishing and those can be found at ventnorcity.org/fishing-pier-fees Historically, at least three piers

have previously existed; the first pier was built around 1914, but was replaced by a larger pavilion. Fire destroyed the second pier in August of 1940, after which a third pier was built to replace the damaged one. That pier was destroyed in a storm in March, 1963. The current pier underwent a nine-month $3.2 mil-

lion renovation project in 2007, and reopened on July 4, 2008. In 2020 the new renovations debuted.

Kidney Donor Gives Life Saving Gift Long awaited surgery a success

I

n February of last year, we introduced you to 43 year old Larry Motto from Egg Harbor Township who was desperately waiting for a donor kidney to become available. He had heart surgery several years prior, which resulted in complications with his kidney and at the time of our story, he was in the last stages of kidney failure.

Since then, the Motto family has been witness to the kindness of a stranger. Larry’s father resides in a retirement community in Florida where he was sitting by the pool last July, having a conversation about his son’s need for a kidney. A member of the same community that they were simply acquaintances with, overheard the conversation and simply said, “I’ll do it!”

Anat Klotzman, the living kidney donor, explained, “I’m not really sure what came over me but I saw a family in need so I threw my hand in the air and said I would do it.

Once I made up my mind, I was determined to see it through.”

Anat began testing in September, sending dozens of vials of blood from Florida

to Philadelphia, traveling for various tests, and getting to know the Motto family along the way. Not only did Anat turn out to be a perfect match, but the 52 year old wife and mother had the kidney of a 22 year old, according to testing.

Living in the world of Covid-19 posed another speed bump in Larry’s road to full health. The surgery was originally scheduled for March 17th. All pre op testing had been complete and things were moving forward when Larry got the call that Covid-19 would pause all surgery, indefinitely.

The waiting game began again, as nobody knew how long things would last or when Jefferson Hospital would begin operating again. As disheartening as the change of plans felt, the Motto family was also relieved. Rebecca Motto, Larry’s wife, explained that she feared Larry would get the kidney then catch Covid-19 and the virus would cause the kidney to fail. They felt much more comfortable waiting until things were more under control at the hospital.

Larry, along with his gracious donor Anat, were patient and Anat was committed to following through with the mission, no matter how long the wait would be. Finally, in May 2020, they got the call that surgeries would begin again sometime in June.

testing all over again. Anat flew to Philadelphia for testing, only this time she was told she must quarantine herself for 14 day and could not return to Florida. In addition to the normal preoperative testing required, both Larry and Anat underwent several Covid-19 tests leading up to the surgery.

Finally, the long awaited surgery took place on June 23rd, 2020. The surgery was a success and both Larry and Anat are doing well. For Larry, it means having his life back.

His wife and children are overwhelmed with emotion that their dad can finally live again.

Larry is already off of his blood pressure medications and the itchiness associated with kidney disease has stopped. He is looking forward to continued health and a full life with his family.

For Anat, she shares that she has never done anything quite as dramatic as this, but organ donation has always been important

to her. She saw an opportunity to bless a family, so she did. When asked how she felt post surgery, Anat shared that physically she is in some normal post op pain but mentally, she is on top of the world! Anat is recovering for the next several weeks with her daughter in Baltimore.

The Motto family is looking forward to the day both Larry and Anat are healed, Covid-19 is history, and they can have one big family gathering. They were all once strangers, now joined by the gift of life.

“There are people out there that are just good people. It’s a gift to want to do this.

Anat gave my kids their dad back” shared Rebecca Motto.

Getting Your Live Entertainment Fix

I

n the midst of the ongoing pandemic, we all miss attending live shows. There is nothing like the ambiance of being at a beach concert, sharing laughter at a comedy club, hearing a lecture or poetry reading. These are things that we have taken for granted and are greatly missed.

Outdoor venues are slowly opening and allowing for in-person events, however many festivals this year have been cancelled or rescheduled for next summer. Thanks to the wonders of technology, we can access a world of entertainment from our homes and at our fingertips. I’d like to offer several ideas to keep the festivities alive and aid in support of our local artists.

The first thing you’ll want to do is create the perfect setting. The most optimal setting can be your living room or any large open space with plenty of room for dancing. If you have a backyard, you can create the perfect environment to emulate the outdoor concert setting. Pick a location to place a sheet or a portable screen, grab a projector, and set up your Bluetooth speaker.

Once you have all of the elements set in place, you are ready to stream your favorite show. YouTube has a variety of live and archived concerts,

music in all genres, you can watch anytime. If you’re looking for some laughs, Netflix and Prime Video offer dozens of stand-up comedy specials.

Every now and again, bands and artists release a live concert album, either a CD or DVD/Blu-Ray, from one of their most recent tours.

For live and local music, I recommend visiting the Virtual Cape May Happy Hour & Sunset Series on Facebook. South Jersey artists perform acoustic versions of your favorite hits and originals from their own backyard. Performances are broadcast live every day at 5:30 & 7:00pm.

Several bands have become creative by playing in venues where one would normally find thousands of fans. The Disco Biscuits, a Philadelphia-based jam rock band, filled an empty Citizens Bank Park with their immersive sound. The entire concert was broadcast online free of charge.

The Philadelphia Folksong Society has taken their annual Folk Festival and turned it into a fully-interactive online celebration. This year’s show

will come complete with multiple “stages” full of music, open mics and chat sessions. The experience will also include audience participation via virtual campfires, a craft show, food vendors and a merchandise table.

It can be difficult to find the same ambiance of sitting front row at your

favorite concert or comedy club, seeing the lights and hearing the sounds and being surrounded with our friends. With the advancement of technology, we can access everything from poetry to the arts, music and entertainment, comedy and literature directly from home and all enjoy the same experience.

Here Today, Gone Today?

W

ell, dear readers, our restaurants New Jersey have finally opened – somewhat.

First, of course, we had takeout and pickup only. Then we were allowed to have outside dining – with appropriate limitations and social distancing.

Restaurants had to space tables 6 feet apart, allow no more than eight people at a table, set up sanitizing stations and require all waiters and kitchen personnel to wear masks, among other guidelines.

(Note: When I submitted this article, we thought restaurants would be opening for inside dining on July 2.

However, as of June 29, the Governor of New Jersey delayed that indefinitely.)

When we can have in-person dining inside our establishments, there will again be strict rules and regulations. If you are interested in seeing the five page Executive Direc-

tive from the State of New Jersey, which lists 38 specific rules we need to follow in order to serve customers both outside and hopefully soon indoors, please go to the State’s website: https://www.state.nj.us/ health/legal/covid19/ and “click” on Executive Directive 20-019.

I won’t list all 38 rules here, but to highlight a few: (1) We’ll be able to serve our patrons but only at 25 percent capacity, which means removing tables or seating customers at every other table; (2) We have to have six feet of spacing in customer waiting areas; (3) Buffets and salad bars are not allowed; (4) All tables, chairs and any other shared items, such as menus, pens and condiments, must be disinfected after every use and; (5) We must have a phone number for every customer in the event contact tracing is required.

There also are specific regulations relating to employees, which include wearing masks, proper hygiene and daily temperature checks.

Speaking of menus, there are many discussions taking place about the future of restaurant menus. Should the menus be the same as before?

Should they be cut back to control costs? Should we use disposable

menus? What are the alternatives to the standard menus we’re accustomed to?

When New Jersey restaurants first opened for takeout and delivery, many cut their menu selections back not only to control costs, but to revamp their kitchens to accommodate the great demand for this type of service. Some offered only family-size portions, others offered Prix Fixe menus. Prix Fixe is a French term that means "fixed price" and refers to a type of menu featuring a pre-selected list of dishes at a set price, which was easier for many restaurants to offer since their kitchens were not initially set up for takeout and delivery.

Physical menus have long been a dining tradition. Some are used as marketing tools, such as those that come in the mail or are available as inserts in newspapers and promotional flyers. Some tell the story of a restaurant, with commentary about each dish and its history. In fact, food historians use old restaurant menus

to talk about the history of food. And many libraries, such as The New York Public Library, have entire collections. (Their collection covers 125 years of New York City restaurants.) And some menus are absolutely works of art! Just Google “ famous or old restaurant menus” and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

And perhaps in another article I’ll talk about the psychology behind planning and designing menus – that’s a whole other very interesting story.

Right now, if physical menus are used in restaurants they must be thoroughly sanitized after each use.

At Mama Mia’s we give each customer a thoroughly sanitized menu for them to review before they place their order. And we still offer all our standard menu items as before, with no reinventing of our traditional recipes, because that’s what my customers want.

I believe that presenting a menu to each customer is a traditional part of my business style; however, many

other restaurant owners are moving to a more modern way, which is fine too.

Some restaurants are now offering disposable paper menus, others have transferred their offerings to a chalkboard or a white board. In my opinion, the latter works well only if you have a limited menu – and nice handwriting!

Then there are restaurants that are moving to use QR codes. QR codes are used by the camera on your Smartphone. Basically, a QR code works in the same way as a barcode at the supermarket. It is a machine-scannable image that can instantly be read using a Smartphone camera. These codes have been used in Asia for years and allow for the replacement of physical menus in restaurants.

Restaurants who use these QR codes have a plastic or other type of holder on each table with their restaurant’s individual QR code, and the customer uses his or her Smartphone to scan the code, which in a second or two brings up the restaurant’s menu on their Smartphone.

One drawback to the use of QR codes, according to Chris Crowley in his article on the website Grub Street, is that less than 30 percent of Americans don’t own a Smartphone. So I think that younger diners would like

using a QR code, and older more traditional diners may find them confusing and annoying. What do you think?

The debate regarding menus will continue as the pandemic continues, and probably long after it is over, since the state of the restaurant industry will most likely be forever changed.

Finally, please continue to support your local restaurants. Dine in or dine out, takeout or delivery – it’s your choice. But do patronize them frequently as they navigate the difficult waters of this pandemic.

he nutrients in food enable the cells in our bodies to perform their necessary functions. The nutrients in food are essential for our physical functioning.

Nutrients are the nourishing substances in food that are essential for the growth, development and maintenance of body functions. Essential meaning that if a nutrient is not present, aspects of function and therefore human health decline. When nutrient intake does not regularly meet the nutrient needs dictated by the cell activity, the metabolic processes slow down or even stop.

In other words, nutrients give our bodies instructions about how to function. In this sense, food can be seen as a source of "information" for the body.

Thinking about food in this way gives us a view of nutrition that goes beyond calories or grams, good foods or bad foods. This view leads us to focus on foods we should include rather than foods to exclude.

When counseling a client I try to relay the message that Instead of viewing food as the enemy, we look to food as a way to create health and reduce disease by helping the body maintain function.

The food we eat gives our bodies

the "information" and materials they need to function properly. If we don't get the right information, our metabolic processes suffer and our health declines. If we get too much food, or food that gives our bodies the wrong instructions, we can become overweight, undernourished, and at risk for the development of diseases and conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes and heart disease.

In short, what we eat is central to our health. Consider that in light of Webster's definition of medicine: "The science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease."

As a society we are facing significant health problems. The United States ranks ninth in life expectancy among nations in the developed world.

We have a workforce plagued with absenteeism and reduced productivity because of chronic health problems, including depression.

78 percent of healthcare expenditures are for the treatment of chronic disease.

Many researchers now believe that these problems are partly related to diet. While they used to believe that diseases-such as type II diabetes ,obesity, heart disease stroke, and certain cancers were caused by a single gene mutation, they are now generally attributing these conditions to a network of biological dysfunction.

To put it simply, the food we eat is an important factor in that dysfunction, in part because our diets lack the necessary balance of nutrients.

One component of Nutritional practices focuses on how diet impacts health and function. When Nutritionists and some Medicine practitioners examine the role of nutrition in chronic disease, they look at multiple systems, such as the digestive system, the immune system, and the detoxification system, because of the interconnections between those systems.

For instance, because 80% of the immune system is contained in the gastrointestinal system, a person's issues with immunity could be related to faulty digestion.

Implementing proper nutrition maintains that chronic disease is almost always preceded by a period of declining health in one or more of the body's systems. Thus, practitioners seek to identify early the symptoms that indicate underlying dysfunction, possibly leading to disease. One of the ways eating nutritionally, seeks to address declining health is to provide the foods and nutrients needed to restore function. This is a cost effective, non-invasive intervention that aims to stop the progression into disease.

Leveling Up to Achieve Your Dreams

M

y nine year old Grayson came down the stairs with his phone in hand. "Mommy", he said, "Can you help me find a swell at the North Shore in Hawaii to add to my Surfline App?" (Surfline is an app that gives surfers updates and details about the conditions at the most popular surf spots around the world, from NJ to New Zealand and beyond.

As I looked at Gray's app, I noticed that he had the Margate pier, Ventnor pier, States Ave in Atlantic City, and Nazare, Portugal. I smiled and thought to myself wow... to have the life goals of a child...

You see, we live in Southern New Jersey. On the East Coast, we have rather shallow waters, so we don't get very large waves. Nazare, however, is different. Totally different.

Nazare is host to some of the world's largest, most dangerous waves, due to the massive canyon on the seafloor. Nazare sees waves well over 60 feet. The current largest wave ever surfed was surfed by Rodrigo Koxa in Nazare at a whopping 80 ft in 2018! Only the world's most elite surfers would ever even dare enter the waters of Nazare during a big Winter swell, yet it was on my nine year old's surf app.

I began thinking about goals. I began thinking about how we have these big dreams and ideas when we are young, and neither the size of the goal nor the ferocity of it are deterrents to us. We believe we can do anything we want. We're told we can be anything we want, so we believe it. That's what we do, us humans... we believe things, based on our own limited knowledge from what we’ve learned up until that particular point in time and we operate within that realm of knowledge. We are told we can be anything and until we are convinced otherwise, we believe what we are told.

Here's the thing: Somewhere along the line (no surf pun intended), we begin to acquire more knowledge and we begin to see the danger in our goals and dreams. The more we learn about the reality of what it will take to achieve our wildest dreams, the less and less confident we become, until one day, we erase that goal entirely from our future. This thought prompted me to have an important teaching conversation with Gray.

I began telling him how awesome it was that he was interested in surfing big waves, and that it would take a lot of hard work to be able to do it, but I said, “It can be done and if it can be done, why can’t it be YOU who does it? You see, Gray, those surfers didn’t decide to surf big waves one day, while sitting on the couch watching surf vids with their buddies. Their astonishing achievements came after years of paddling out in great conditions, and in poor conditions, when the tide was coming in, and when the tide was going out, when the water was warm, and

when the water was bone-chilling cold. They have all been told they are crazy, they’re going to die, how could they put that much time into surfing, don’t they have real jobs? Big

wave surfers have suffered years of being beaten and bruised by the sea, the land and those in it, yet they put in years and years of work and they don’t give up. It’s hard, yet I guarantee that any surfer who has surfed Nazare and lived to tell about it will tell you that it was the absolute most incredible experience of their lives and that nothing on the earth could bring them the kind of rush and euphoria that a big wave can. It can be done AND it takes a hunger for it and a commitment to it to be able to surf a big wave, no matter what it costs.

I’m not saying to become a big wave surfer or not to… but whatever you do, do it 110% and don’t let anyone discourage you.”

After that conversation, as Gray walked up the stairs, scrolling through the details of the Hawiian surf spots that I added to his app,

most likely completely forgetting the (what I thought was) beautiful lesson that I taught him, I turned the thought on myself. At least SOMEONE should get something out of this lesson, I thought! So I pondered…

When have I had a dream or an idea that I felt completely confident in, but gave up on, because of fear or because of the amount of work it would take to achieve it or because someone (or many) discouraged me about it or warned me about it? When have I run away from my Nazare? And what did I miss because of it?

The first step is awareness, but after the awareness comes the magic, Shore Locals. Once you identify the Nazare in your life (the things or things you too, have given up on for the same reasons), then you can begin to unravel the lies you’ve been telling yourself and create a plan to get back on track. I hope that you are able to dig up your Nazare, because we all have it and you hold the keys to your future. You have ONE life. ONE. And it is your’s.

No one else will live your life for you so no one else gets to tell you what to do with your life. So... what’s it going to be, Shore Local? Are you going to take a pass and sit on the shore watching as others surf your wave, or are you going to get out there, put in the work, lay down the fear and negativity, run after that board and paddle out? Let There Be Songs To Fill The Air

n June 27th, 2020, Charlie Wigo IV of The Dead Reckoning Grateful Dead tribute band, debuted his newest band, Weir-Wolves, in Atlantic City, NJ. Over a hundred Deadheads, many traveling from Delaware and Pennsylvania, made the trip to enjoy a second night of Dead music this week, with the backdrop of the boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean roaring in the distance. Featuring Cosmic Charlie on guitar, David Rowan on bass guitar, Kenny Q on drums, and special guests Mark Whitecage on the saxophone, and Richie Nagan of Parliament Funkadelic and 420 Funk Mob on percussion.

The Weir-Wolves started hot and fast acoustically with "On the Road Again," originally written by the Memphis Jug Band, and covered by the Grateful Dead many times over the years, not to be confused with the famous song by WIllie Nelson. As the band performed "Jack-A-Roe," they were forced to take a break, as they were rocking so hard they blew a fuse, cutting out power to the stage. After power was restored, the band launched into Bob Dylan’s

"Desolation Row," a song notable for its length and surreal lyrics which weaves characters from history, fiction, the Bible and his own invention into a series of vignettes that suggest entropy and urban chaos.

Charlie dove deep into the Bob Weir archives for "City Girls," originally performed by Bobby and the Midnights; Weir’s short experiment with pop music in the 1980’s. The band closed out the set with a cover of the Talking Heads’ "Take Me to the River."

During set break, the majority of the people relocated to the sidewalk and remained for the duration of the show. Outside the venue, there was the freedom to move around, socialize with friends, and dance and hula hoop the night away, still maintaining social distance.

Among the sea of tie dye, old friends met and new friends were made, as William Butler Yeats says: there are

no strangers; just friends you haven’t met yet.

The second set opened with a cover of the Monkees’ Shades of Grey, showing the amazing versatility of the members to play other songs

besides the Dead. Other standouts include: Man Smart, Woman Smarter, Truckin’, Shakedown Street and Dancin’ in the Streets, apropo theme for the night. For the encore, the Weir-Wolves closed the show with the Robert Hunter penned song, "Ripple," and a feeling of a true moment of solidarity and love was felt by all, reminding us to “let there be songs to fill the air.”

A Taste of Summer

M

y memories of summer are as rich in tradition as they are in flavor.

We all have our favorite summer foods that we can see and taste just by closing our eyes, even in the middle of a winter storm. How many of us pass over any peach, tomato or ear of corn that’s not Jersey Fresh? Who can resist Jersey clams and Cape May Salts oysters, so fresh you can taste the ocean.

I’ve chosen some of my favorites that summer wouldn’t be summer unless they showed up on our tables or in our hands.

You truly haven’t experienced how enchanting a tomato can be until you eat one like an apple, still warm from the sun, sprinkled with salt. Did anyone else have a designated beach saltshaker or was that just me and the large group of friends and relatives who commandeered our space on the beach?

Peaches. Who can resist this summer wonder snack? Peaches so

fresh that when you take the first bite and the juice runs down your arm and drips off your elbow, you know it’s a good day. If you’ve lived at the shore or ever visited, you’re probably familiar with the delicious stickiness on your hands, face and bathing suit after finishing the perfect peach. I liked that sweet stickiness because it was never long until I went from sweet to salty as I jumped back in the ocean (my original summer babysitter).

Another interesting summer go to growing up was what my family called a “Summer Dinner.” There’s been some debate as to what precisely showed up on our plates. But since I know my memory is better than my family’s and frankly, because I’m writing this, it will be what I remember of this simple meal.

Cut up cucumbers, tuna fish, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (yea that’s right, we were a blue box family). This senseless conglomeration was, believe it or not, passed down to three

generations. It’s true.

Looking back, I realized it was a quick, inexpensive no oven dinner that was easy to give to two kids after a long day at work. Thankfully, it was an oddly delicious, well-rounded meal, but don’t dare try to make it in the fall. It is a “Summer Dinner” so that would just be silly.

Another summer tradition my family had was reserved for the delicious treat of steamed clams. Much like calling “shot gun” when you’re in eyesight of a car, the first person who called “fishing rights” got the honor of going through the pot with a strainer and getting all the rouge clams that abandoned their shell mid boil.

And now we take you to my generation for the newest and most inventive summer obsession: the soon to be infamous Filing Cabinet Smoker. For the amount of time I spend on Reddit looking at inventive ways to transform something out of nothing, something boring into something amazing, I should have my 10,000 hours which would make me an expert crafter. Alas, I scroll and scroll only imagining how much cooler of a human I would be if I learned how to cook a steak on a car engine or turn my old ratty toy box into a beautiful resin coffee table that would tie any room together. The me

in my imagination is cooler and far more dexterous then the me in real life. Until now.

I don’t know what compelled me to choose this one-out of 15 million other crafts I see online. Wait. It’s my love of barbecue.

The craft took 45 minuets to put together (plus double that time in Home Depot) but we now have a filing cabinet repurposed as a smoker.

Just the idea of it blows my mind.

If only I had the ocean to jump into after eating the quintessential messy all over your face barbecue. But you can’t have everything. Where would you put it?

The FCS (Filing Cabinet Smoker) makes the perfect barbecue, and we get to talk about how cool it is the whole time we’re eating.

I hope you create and enjoy your own summer staples, and I encourage you to transform a filing cabinet into a smoker. I do suggest, however, taking out any important papers.

appy 4th of July everyone!

By the time you read this, we will all be getting ready for the big 4th of July weekend, and all that comes with it. But it feels much different this year, doesn’t it? There has been a resurgence of cases of COVID-19 in states like Florida & Arizona. Sports leagues almost daily are changing or tweaking what their plans are. It almost…ALMOST…makes it difficult to write a sports & entertainment column!

But I’ll give it my best…

Since I last wrote, there was a resolution to the NASCAR situation at Talladega. NASCAR had a historic day in Long Pond, PA as not one, not two, but THREE races were held in a single day at Pocono. The PGA Tour successfully completed a stop in Connecticut and now it’s on to Detroit. Major League Baseball not only came to an agreement, but is now getting ready for “Summer Training” as opposed to “Spring Training” and an actual start date for a shortened season. The NBA has been in the news a bunch as that league continues to plan for a resumption of play at the Disney resort in Orlando. The NHL held its draft lottery and you won’t believe who the winner was. Speaking of hockey, two Flyers events are scheduled for right here at the Jersey Shore. Finally,

in local sports, a bunch of high school baseball players are going to get the opportunity to play one last time in a super-tournament called “The Last Dance."

From the entertainment world, I’ve “ramped up” my Netflix watching and finished one very good action movie trilogy. I also watched a SHOWTIME one-season escape drama that was pretty riveting. Oh, and my family continues to enjoy “Sunday Game Night” on ABC. As always though, we begin with sports, and my thoughts: ● Let me start with NASCAR for the second column in a row because not long after I wrote the previous column about the Bubba Wallace situation at Talladega, an FBI investigation determined the noose found

at the Talladega Superspeedway garage had been there since at least October and was a coincidence, not a hate crime. That said, NASCAR president Steve Phelps, then had NASCAR conduct a thorough sweep of every garage area in all 29 tracks at which it races, a total of 1,684 garage stalls. That sweep found 11 total garages that had a pull-down rope tied in a knot, and only one noose -- the one discovered on in Bubba Wallace's garage. Hate crime of not, NASCAR must do better. According to Phelps, cameras will be added to garages moving forward. In addition, NASCAR will also require members of the industry to complete sensitivity and unconscious bias training.

Now to the racing as for the first time in history, NASCAR ran a Truck, XFINITY & Cup races all in the same day at Pocono Raceway. But let me back up for a second. On Saturday, Kevin Harvick ended an oh-for-38 at Pocono. Now, the 44-year-old only has to win at Kentucky Speedway to have won at every active track where NASCAR races. Rain on Sunday almost washed out the planned trifecta of races, but in the end, Brandon Jones opened the day with a win in the Truck series race, and Chase Briscoe won the Xfinity event.

Denny Hamlin won the Cup race, basically in the dark, as they had to set up lights in Victory Lane. This would’ve been an EPIC weekend at the “Tricky Triangle," but without fans, it was simply historic yet quiet.

Here’s hoping we can all get back to watching sports in person as soon as it is SAFE. In golf, 50-year-old Phil Mickelson actually led the Travelers Championship after two full rounds of play, but it was a crowded leaderboard once again on golf’s biggest stage. On Sunday, Dustin Johnson emerged from the pack and won the tournament with a 19-under score of 261 for his 21st PGA Tour title. “DJ” as he’s known has now won a PGA Tour event in 13 straight seasons, which is a feat in itself. Arnold Palmer & Jack Nicklaus hold the record with wins in 17 consecutive years. There’s a catch to this too, as Johnson failed to win in 2014, but he did win in Shanghai

in the fall of 2013, and the tour changed to a wraparound season in 2013, so they consider that acceptable for the purposes of the win streak. Once again, I enjoyed the golf on CBS and Golf Channel, but long for a day when I can watch an event with fans in attendance too.

Speaking of the TV coverage, the USGA made big news when they announced officially that FOX was opting out of the rest of their U.S. Open contract and now the 2020 Men’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot will air on NBC. To me, this is HUGE news, as I never felt golf was a good “fit� on FOX. In 2015, hearing Joe Buck & Greg Norman together was unnatural. Norman was quickly replaced by Paul Azinger, but even though FOX threw a lot of money at trying to “innovate� the coverage, it just wasn’t what I felt comfortable watching. And I know I’m not alone!

ESPN now has the weekday rounds of the PGA Championship starting this year, with CBS broadcasting the weekend. The deal gives Comcast-owned NBC, along with Golf Channel, the U.S. Open and British Open, The Players Championship, three World Golf Championships, the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup. It also will have the FedEx Cup playoffs every other year when the

new media rights deal with the PGA Tour begins. NBC and Golf Channel also will have all the majors on the LPGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.

My last item about golf is that COVID-19 continues to be an issue.

Cameron Champ tested positive earlier in the week in Connecticut.

Then Graeme McDowell pulled out after his caddie tested positive. The biggest name in the field, Brooks Koepka pulled out after HIS caddie tested positive. Webb Simpson withdrew after a family member tested positive, and then the most bizarre moment was when Jason Day teed off by himself on Saturday, waiting to find out if his second COVID-19 test was positive. It came back negative, but it has forced the PGA Tour to change the policy once again. Moving forward, beginning at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, players will not be allowed on site at an event until they get back a negative test result.

The shadow of COVID-19 is looming large over the return for baseball as well. The Phillies and the rest of the other teams, had to submit their 60-man player pool to Major League Baseball with “Summer Campâ€?‌er...â€?Spring Trainingâ€? starting on July 1st. Sadly, this meant 30-year-old Cape May native Matt Szczur was released by the Phils. He was most likely projected to play at Triple-A in Lehigh Valley, but with the minor league baseball season cancelled, Szczur became a man without a team.

Right-hander Drew Storen was also released by the team, but the Phillies only announced 53 names on their original list. Relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez was placed on the 60-day injured list. Odubel Herrera is under contract to the Phillies, but he was NOT on their list.

Two of the organization's top prospects are also on the list as pitcher Spencer Howard and presumed third-base heir Alec Bohm were both expected to compete at Triple-A this season. It's likely both will be returned to the minor leagues by the start of the season, along with a host of other players on the pool list.

So, the Phillies scheduled season is still to come, with the first games expected to be July 23rd or 24th, unless COVID-19 has something to

say about that. Oh, there will be NO fans at Citizens Bank Park for the shortened season. I’ve heard about some towns (like Chicago) that are trying to get permission to let SOME fans in, but I don’t see it happening with all the uncertainty right now.

As baseball tries to “steam ahead� toward a season, the NBA continues to have certain players come out and announce that they are opting out of the resumption of the season at the Disney resort in Orlando. Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan has tested positive for COVID-19 and says he will NOT be in Orlando for the resumption of the season. His teammate Spencer Dinwiddie tested positive as well, but hasn’t said if he will play or not. Either way, the NBA seems determined to resume games on July 30th in Orlando. We shall see.

The Sixers picked up some shooting help the other day when they signed Ryan Broekhoff to a free-agent contract for the rest of the season.

Broekhoff is already familiar with at least one Sixers star, as he is Australian, so he knows Ben Simmons pretty well. The Sixers had one roster spot available, so the addition of Broekhoff gives them 17 players, the maximum they can bring to Orlando, Fla., for the resumption of the NBA season. The 22 teams will depart for Orlando on July 7, 8, or 9. The Sixers will leave July 9. The first NBA games are scheduled to be played on July 30th, but again, this is all under the category of “we shall see”…!

And then there’s hockey…the good old NHL. First off, 15 out of the 250 players practicing right now have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s enough to give some pause, but not a STOP to the league’s plans to resume with a 24-team Stanley Cup playoff format.

12 members of the Philadelphia Flyers have been participating in the voluntary, small-group workouts at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees.

scheduled to play in a round-robin seeding tournament against Boston, Tampa Bay, and Washington when or if the season resumes, probably in early August.

Here’s an update about the hub cities for the return, as Vancouver has now dropped out of the mix.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Nevada, and specifically Las Vegas, there’s a real possibility that the two hub cities for the return of hockey could both be Canadian cities.

Toronto and Edmonton remain realistic possibilities -- if not the front-runners.

My last hockey tidbit is about the NHL Draft Lottery that was won by…..NO ONE! Only in this strange year of COVID-19 could there be a draft lottery and when the card for the #1 pick was turned over, it had the NHL logo on it…! Chaos reigned at the NHL draft lottery, with the No. 1 pick still up for grabs in a second lottery drawing among the eight teams that lose in the qualifying round of the playoffs -- if play resumes.

I almost feel bad for league-worst Detroit, who dropped to the #4 pick, but then I remember 13 years ago in 2007, when the Philadelphia Flyers SHOULD’VE had the #1 overall pick, but the dang Chicago Blackhawks won the draft lottery and snuck

up there. Chicago selected Patrick Kane, who would go on to lead them to Stanley Cups in 2010 (over Philly), 2013 and 2015. The Flyers took James van Riemsdyk and then traded him in 2012. JVR is back, but I’m still bitter about what the Flyers would’ve looked like with Patrick Kane playing a major role…!!!

Oh, I simply MUST mention the two Flyers Community events scheduled for July 7th and July 9th in our area.

The Flyers Community Caravan is scheduled to stop in North Wildwood on Tuesday July 7th from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., and in Ocean City on Thursday July 9th from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. According to the official announcement, “Sidelining the hands-on activities of years' past, the Flyers have transformed the Community Caravan into a socially-distant mobile pep rally featuring the Flyers own DJ Reed Streets, In-Arena Host Andrea Helfrich, Flyers Alumni, the Flyers Ice Team and, of course, Gritty on a tandem bike with his men in black! My last sports item is about the local baseball players that will get to compete in the Last Dance Tournament that is being organized by St. Joseph (Metuchen) athletic director and others. The Last Dance Tournament will start with pool-play July 14-16. About 60 sites statewide will be used based on location, placing teams into 32 regions. Most regions will have two groups of four teams.

After three pool play games, the top two from each will then play for the regional championship.

Locally, Vineland, Ocean City, Holy Spirit, Egg Harbor Township, Cedar Creek, ACIT, Millville, Mainland and Buena will all take part in the action. The 32 regional champions will advance to the single-elimination rounds on July 21-29. There will then be two brackets (North & South Jersey) with 16 teams each.

The North and South winners will play for the state title July 30th.

This is a GREAT idea to get the local baseball players “one last chance”, even if they are not allowed to wear school-issued uniforms or use raised money for transportation and shirts.

Ocean City is supposed to host one of the regions and tournament organizers called it one of the “best in the state”. I sure hope to be there…!!!

“Olympus Has Fallen”, “London Has Fallen” and “Angel Has Fallen” this past week in my TV viewing. I had never seen any of those when they originally came out and enjoyed them very much with “Olympus” being my favorite.

I took a chance and binge watched “Escape at Dannemora” on SHOWTIME. The seven-episode limited series was EXCELLENT as it featured great performances from actors like Benicio del Toro, Patricia Arquette, Paul Dano, Bonnie Hunt, Eric Lange & David Morse. All the episodes were directed by Ben Stiller, as the series is based on the true story of the 2015 Clinton Correctional Facility escape in upstate New York. The escape prompted a massive manhunt for the two convicted murderers, who were aided in their escape by a married female prison employee with whom they both became sexually entangled.

If you’re looking for good acting & DRAMA, you might enjoy “Escape at Dannemora” as well.

Lastly, have any of you been watching “Sunday Game Night” on ABC…? My family is enjoying the “triple-play” of “Celebrity Family Feud”, followed by “Press Your Luck” and “Match Game”. Family Feud is always a favorite to watch, but Elizabeth Banks has done a

great job hosting the reboot of “Press Your Luck” (no whammy…no whammy…and STOP). Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin is perfectly suited for the more adult humor that weaves its way through “Match Game”. He even has the skinny kind of mic that Gene Rayburn used to swing around in the 70’s when the game was first popular. If you’re missing out, you’re MISSING out…!

Fly high

f you are feeling weighed down by the heaviness of the world or from personal situations, consider taking flight. Literally‌.FLY through the sky and over the ocean. There is nothing like it! Parasailing is a great activity for people of all ages.

You've likely seen people parasailing from the beaches or boardwalk.

They are the large colorful parachutes, high in the sky, with what looks like little people dangling from them. From the beach it looked terrifying to me, but in reality, it's not scary at all. (That is, unless you look down! Haha) We first went parasailing in 1993,

in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Bob and I were on our honeymoon.

That was the first time we had ever seen or heard of parasailing. So for our 25th anniversary, a couple years ago, we decided to try it again. This worried me at the time... I was heavier than I once was and now in my 50s, I was afraid I wouldn't be strong enough to hold on. I quickly learned that all my fears were unfounded. It is perfect for all ages and body sizes.

When a good friend came to visit last week, we decided to take to the sky. At 500 feet up, we took in the beauty. The world seemed to fall into perspective from such a great height.

Before landing, we even got "dipped" which definitely added to the excitement. (You can choose whether or not you want to be dipped) Though it is considered a watersport, you don’t have to know how to swim in order to parasail. The ascent and descent take place on a boat platform and are remarkably gentle.

Parasailing is rated one of the top five activities to do in Ocean City. I have sailed through the air with both Ocean City Parasailing and Fly OCNJ Parasailing and both were wonderful experiences. If you are looking to try something fun and memorable, this is for you! Give it a fly...I mean try!

5 People , Places and Things That Got Me Through The Lock Down The Light with Raymond Tyler

A

s I am writing this New Jersey seems to be in the green with most of the things people enjoy coming back in some form or fashion.

For me DJing can’t come back soon enough or being able to hug people I care about.

However, going back to March (which is the last time I have touched another human being) when they announced that everything except air and Wal-Mart causes Covid 19, I was not doing well with that news.

I am a social person and I miss dancing and not talking to my friends via a little box on zoom.

There were however some great breakthroughs I had, some great people I met and some great things I learned.

Next week I will go back into the trenches of Covid-19 reporting but today , once more a little fun.

Things that kept me from going crazier than I was, during the lockdown.

5. DJ Fah D and Marc Asbury There were other DJ’s in the area that were also online and on facebook sharing their talents for free. Fah D, and Marc Asbury were on the most, had the most fun and seemed to be the most successful dodging Facebook and instagram shut downs of music mixes. Shout out to all the DJ’s that played for their fans including Mike Black, Nino Brown, Just Shawn, Thadd G, Ahmad Khan, and Do It All. Fah D and Marc Asbury drew and still draw almost 1000 viewers or more per performance. We all are a close knit family and it was good to see us support each other. I was proud to see DJ’s share other DJ’s parties.

The DJ Family still has a rough road ahead as we have no positive indications that we will ever be able to practice the craft we love it, playing directly for the fans. I hope we do, but at this time it does not look good.

4. Zoom - Number 4, probably should have been number one to me.

Thanks to Zoom, I was able to stay in touch with friends from SJ to Philly.

Zoom also helped me produce virtual events that made me feel almost as good as being there. The bad news with Zoom no hugs...the good news no gas or toll money needed. Zoom is a tool I will be using until the transporter beam is invented and perfected. Zoom has been a tool that helped me conduct interviews and host a most dinner party series called Soul In The City!

3. Larry Lee - Larry Lee is a childhood friend who kept me from just ignoring everything and kept me focused on the safety of my family. Lee helped me refit my studio so that I could do more broadcasting and podcasting online from home. Anytime I need a friend and some level support Larry Lee was there. I think I would have ran away from home if he was not available by phone.

2. Cheryl Sellers Cheryl Sellers is my business manager and has had to calm me on average about 2 days a week. In March she had to calm me down every day.

I don’t know what everyone that did not have a business manager did but I am so glad to have had mine. I am still glad she’s present.

1. Wal-Mart - Without a doubt Wal-Mart and Target were the only places where one could go to see live people. There were days I would just sit in the parking lot. There were times someone would recognize me in my mask and we would talk for 20 minutes. Wal-Mart is one of the only places where I know I will be able to see people and socialize in any way (if you call buying food you used to shun for good health being social.)

So I know that this pandemic is not over. I do however, understand why people flock to various activities as soon as they open. It’s because despite our faults we are social creatures. So as we move forward, do what you feel is safe. Consider the safety of others and be compassionate. I am still praying for people that cannot come outside and do not have computer access...in fact, I am praying for us all.

GBTQ+ Pride hit a milestone this year when it reached its 50th anniversary. What started as a series of spontaneous violent demonstrations by members of the gay community has transformed into a world-wide celebration.

If you are unfamiliar with this ever-growing acronym, here is a cheat sheet: Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer or Questioning At times you also may see a plus sign after LGBTQ which represents other sexual identities including pansexual, asexual and omnisexual.

To put those 50-years into perspective, 1970 was the same year we met and fell in love with Big Bird, Elmo (my favorite), and two, really close male friends who lived together and innocently enough, loved to take bubble baths together.

In fact, in 2018 former Sesame Street writer, Mark Saltzman divulged that characters Bert and Ernie were indeed a gay couple, which he had modeled after his own relationship.

For me, the show normalized an LGBTQ lifestyle. I never needed an explanation. I could tell Ernie and Bert

loved each other. Without really mentioning their preferences, they taught that is love is love. No matter who you love.

This has certainly been one of the more somber Pride Months. The coronavirus pandemic, mixed with staggering violence, protests, and a 24/7 news cycle certainly put a damper on the yearly celebrations.

During “normal” times, Pride is chock full of parties, events, parades and rallies that not only offer a chance for all people to celebrate the freedom to not only be who they are, but be accepted for who they are as well.

The history of Pride is as colorful as its infamous rainbow flag. While 2020’s Pride Month had a more mellow, low key vibe, there’s no reason we can’t still honor its significance.

Perhaps we might learn a nugget of information to keep in our arsenal of random facts. Who knows, parties may someday come back, and I’m sure you’ll be glad you remembered these Pride Fast Facts: Every color of the flag means something - The first Gay flag flew at the Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco in 1978 and was designed

by Gilbert Baker. Hot pink represents sexuality. Red: life. Orange: healing.

Yellow: sunlight. Green: nature. Turquoise: magic and art. Indigo: serenity and harmony. Violet: spirit.

Pride parades weren’t always called Pride parades - When early Pride events started, they were somewhat militant, and were more often than not, referred to as marches. “Gay Liberation” or “Gay Freedom” were more common names for those marches. As militancy slowly decreased in the 1980s and 1990s, events moved toward a parade-structure that altered the “Pride” language that we see today.

The largest Pride Parade in the world is in Sao Paulo, Brazil -The Sao Paulo Gay Pride Parade started with 2,000 attendees in 1997. Today, it has grown to millions. In 2006, the Guinness Book of World Records named Sao Paulo's parade the largest Gay Pride celebration in the world, with 2.5 million attending. The city still holds that title. That’s Pride.

Pride Month has only been acknowledged by two U.S. presidents.

- While the LGBTQ community have been claiming June as Pride Month for decades, only two U.S. presidents have officially acknowledged it. President Bill Clinton was the first to recognize Pride Month in 1999. In 2009 President Barack Obama issued a proclamation declaring June Pride Month.

I learned a lot writing this story.

Heres the most profound and enlightening lesson I want to share with you: Having pride and being proud is for everyone. Every. Single. Human. No matter what you look like, who you love or where you’re from.

Downtown Wildwood’s Events and Attractions Expected to Draw Visitors from All Over the Tri-State Area This Summer

owntown Wildwood is THE place to visit this summer. The downtown area is enjoying quite a renaissance and is perfect for anyone looking for a one-stop destination with live entertainment, one of a kind shopping, great eats, and even daily fitness classes this summer.

Downtown Wildwood used to be the hustling and bustling center of nightlife many years ago; however, as people became more mobile, it went from being the “it” place to being just another stop over. Former Mayor, Ernie Troiano Jr. said, “We were called the little Las Vegas of the east coast and that equated to many dollars being spent in the area and tax revenue for the state.”

Unfortunately, as more people had access to cars, they started to venture elsewhere. The appeal of the big cities was drawing people away from areas like Wildwood and businesses starting to feel the impact, and eventually many were forced to close.

Kid Entrepreneurs

ormally in late June my kids are decompressing from a busy school year filled with nonstop activities. They would be going to the beach, visiting with family and friends and enjoying lazy mornings.

If we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic, my kids would be looking forward to attending several weeklong camps ranging from art to sports. However, this is not a normal summer. As we found ourselves faced with a summer of no plans due to social distancing, we needed to get creative with how to fill our time. After throwing around a lot of different ideas, they decided to launch their own business called Adventure Twins.

Their concept is this-they create rustic soap and hand sanitizer dispensers with different designs. What started off as a fun idea has turned into so much more. They are learning about how to create and run a small business. It’s been such a fun process and I would encourage other kids with an idea to try to make something of it!

The kids are thrilled with their business venture. It’s giving them a major sense of accomplishment, helping to fill the long hours of summer and also helping them earn money to buy themselves things they want instead of having to ask their parents. It’s been such a joy to watch them learn and grow. If you have children who are looking for a summer activity, encourage them to start a business. Think about what they enjoy doing or making and turn it into something profitable.

It will give them a sense of pride to know that they earned money themselves!

atterns are used in various activities to replicate something that is to be produced multiple times. I’ve seen it done by carpenters who need to cut several boards in the same angle. After the first board is cut, they will label it “PAT” and then use it to mark the cut on the subsequent boards. Years ago, women would buy dress patterns to make their own clothing. I remember my mother buying dress patterns and cloth, laying the pattern on the cloth and cutting the pieces, then sowing the pieces together and, after a days’

work and a few dollars expense, having a brand new dress in the material she wanted.

Coin patterns are different from the above in as they are not meant to replicate a design but rather, as a definition goes they are “an experimental piece which either illustrates a proposed coinage design, or which embodies a proposed innovation of composition, size or shape”.

Pattern coinage can be traced all to way back to the 1600’s where a letter from British government officials to engraver David Ramage authorized him to produce patterns of various denominations of coins for consideration of minting those coins of his designs for use in the commonwealth.

In the United States, pattern coinage has been produced from the beginning of the opening of he Philadelphia mint in 1792 which struck several “experimental” cents featuring Lady Liberty more as an actual woman (some theorize the model was Martha Washington) in copper or in a smaller

size with a silver plug in the center.

1793, the first actual year of commercial production saw 3 different designs of one cent coins, the third design being used beyond that year.

Were the first 2 designs patterns?

Probably not because quantities were released for circulation, but the mint was experimenting.

Patterns are not only produced for changes in design for existing coins but are solicited when a different denomination is being considered. Examples being during 1850’s when the mint was proposing adding two cent and three cent coins to the production. In the case of striking an existing coin in a different metal, existing dies would be used. An example of this occurred in 1974 when the price of copper used to strike one cent coins equaled that coin’s face value. Aluminum cents were struck in the expectation that the metal would replace the copper. This did not happen and virtually all of those cents were destroyed.

Until the late 1880’s patterns of coins would find their way into the marketplace, but since that time it has been the mints’ practice to destroy all patterns. I believe that now patterns are submitted as plaster designs, much larger than an actual coin.

Patterns predating 1890 are actual die struck pieces and the quantity varies from a few to a few thousand. Some are more

were always dated the year they were minted, which could be several years before a design is chosen.

Pattern collecting is not for the average collector, but viewing examples is easy and rewarding by going online and searching “coin patterns”.

For example, a design that was too close to the edge would result in a weak die that would be prone to breakage. Also, patterns

TRX-more than just hanging

hat is TRX? TRX is short for total body resistance exercise and uses suspension training for a complete, full body workout. The TRX system was developed by a Navy Seal over twenty years ago. It is an effective program used by many. Professional athletes, Olympians and all branches of the military use it as part of their training. It has also become extremely popular with gyms and trainers around the globe and the certification process is thorough and lengthy. There are some that believe lifting weights or extreme workouts is the only way to achieve results. That is simply not true, TRX is superb in yielding results. Such a sturdy piece of equipment. I guarantee, it will improve your overall total body strength, stability and cardiovascular health. All you need is the TRX suspension trainer and your own body weight!

The TRX Suspension Trainer is designed with heavy-duty straps, handles, foot cradles, and padding. The TRX signature products can range from $190 to $250. Suspension training works by challenging your body in conditions of instability. This forces you to constantly

engage your core for all of the exercises. A strong Core is life enhancing. We must have a strong core to perform daily living activities. It is especially important as we age for functional day to day activities. It also helps improve your balance and overall strength.

You are suspended from an anchor point where bodyweight becomes your machine and gravity your resistance. Adjusting the level of difficulty per exercise is as easy as moving your hands or feet. This is where the cool factor comes in. TRX suspension training uses a simplified approach based on seven basic movements: Push, pull, plank, rotate, hinge, lunge and squat. There are six basic TRX suspension body positions that incorporate the seven basic movements and include the following: ● Stand facing the anchor point (SF) ● Stand facing away from the anchor point (SFA) ● Stand Sideways to the anchor point (SSW) ● Ground Facing the anchor point (GF) ● Ground Facing away from the anchor point(GFA) ● Ground Sideways(GSW) Suspension training uses body weight and movement that stimulates neuromuscular responses to body position changes. Every movement your body makes requires communication between the brain and the muscles. Nerves and muscles, working together to make your body move as you want it to. For example, using a Stand Facing (SF) body position and lifting your body weight toward the anchor point with a pulling movement engages several muscle groups. Your core is engaged to balance your body while your back and biceps work to pull your body toward the anchor. Your body is working hard integrating strength, mobility, and balance during one dynamic movement. It’s incredible.

TRX suspension training challenges so many muscle groups during an exercise session. It provides superior workout results.

TRX is ideal for the older adult population.

Individuals who are at risk for falling can gain significant balance and confidence gains. Less probability for falling, improved gait, and dynamic balance. Core stability training is critical.

TRX training challenges several muscle groups during each exercise movement.

Your standard push-up for the chest also engages the core and other muscles during suspension training. Your center of gravity is always out of balance, leaving no choice but to engage your core, back, hips, and shoulders to stabilize the movement.

This means that performing regular

exercises like squats, planks, and push-ups become more dynamic because other muscle groups are working to support the move.

TRX training includes adjustable suspension bands suitable for a beginner exerciser to an advanced athlete. This means the program can be modified to fit every fitness level.

The variety of exercises and progressions for each movement are endless, making TRX suspension training not only appealing but beneficial for everyone. It’s worth the money spent because it will always be a useful tool, no matter how fit you are or will be.

TRX Suspension Training continues to grow as a popular exercise method to gain strength and stability. I personally think it’s fantastic and want to learn as much as I can about it since installing it in my personal gym.

It gives you that “good shake” and you know it’s working. As with any workout program, there will be likes and dislikes. It really comes down to personal choice and enjoyment of suspension training.
