See Story on Page 3 The City Police Department on Friday warned the public about the recent resurgence of “mailbox fishing”— a federal offense in which envelopes containing checks and valuable personal information are “fished out” of mailboxes by resourceful thieves using a makeshift rod: an adhesive slathered on a weighted bottle attached to the end of a string or rope.
