Celeste Beatty, owner of Harlem Brewing Co. lands product in Walmart

H

arlemite Celeste Beatty and her Harlem Brewing Co. came to terms with Walmart that will place her product, including her flagship Sugar Hill Golden Ale and neighborhood original Harlem Renaissance Wit, in Walmart stores in New York, with the possibility of landing in more Walmart stores in the near future. Harlem News spoke exclusively with Beatty to discuss the life-changing agreement and a lot more.

“I cracked open a couple of beers,” Beatty said of the Monday the deal with Walmart was finalized. “We were bottling some homebrews and a few friends were around so we had some ciders and some beer on hand and popped open a couple of bottles.”

But where did her passion for brewing start?

Beatty’s love of cooking heavily influenced her brewing beginnings. “I’ve always enjoyed cooking. I grew up in the Carolinas and was always around great cooks.” She continued, saying that while cooking, she would “experiment with recipes, infusing beer and wine.”

“A friend gave me a brewing kit gift and encouraged me to experiment. I didn’t even know brewing beer was legal,” the humble Beatty said. Once she began experimenting, she immediately noticed the similarities with cooking. “It was like making a soup, but instead of putting beans into the water I would put barley.” This was the unofficial beginning of Harlem Brewing Co. Beatty grew up admiring Harlem from afar. “Everyone looks to Harlem for that inspiration…

it was always that place that was talked about in the south.” That admiration of Harlem is what landed Beatty here in 1992. “I wanted to be a part of the spirit of what was happening.”

The official launch of Harlem Brewing Co. took place on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the Studio Museum of Harlem. The company’s first business account came from a legendary Harlem eatery. “Sylvia’s Restaurant was the first account to give us an order,” and then she reflected on the relationship. “We have been in that restaurant for almost 16 years…they sell all of our products there,” referring to the team and restaurant as friends and mentors.

Fast-forward to 2016, and Harlem Brewing Co. has amassed a lot more business accounts. “Thanks to our distributor Manhattan Beer, we have

several hundred accounts in New York.” Some of the more notable accounts include Whole Foods, Fairway, Best Yet Market, and Olive Market, among many others, and now Walmart can be added to that list.

On tap for Beatty is her upcoming Art of Brewing: Africa to America class at City College of New York this spring equipped with a full nano-brew house. She is also eying sites on a location for Harlem Brewery on 12th Avenue in Harlem. As someone who has known Celeste for some time, I am excited about her success and I am more so about the future. Elected Official, Black Community Call for Recognition Of “3/5 Awareness Clause Day” in NYC

s New Yorkers went about their busy day in the City Hall area on Saturday, a group of community-minded citizens, led by NYC Council Member Andy King, stood in a moment of silence for a purpose.

They called for New York City to recognize March 5th as “Three-Fifths Clause Awareness Day” and for the federal government to negate the 3/5 Clause language in the U.S. Constitution.

“Bringing awareness to the Three-Fifth Clauses is of importance to understanding the current day plight of African-Americans in New York City, said King, who will be proposing two legislations in the City Council next week. He organized a news conference at the African Burial Ground National Monument Outside Memorial Area, in City Hall area, where he was joined by Ebony Meeks Laidley, Congress Member Gregory Meeks; Vince Morgan, the Black Institute; Jerome Rice, President of NAACP Co-op City branch, Jay Morrison of Jay Morrison Academy, members of 1199 Women and many others.

In U.S. history, the ThreeFifth Clause (Article 1, Section2, of the U.S. Constitution of 1787) was demanded by Southern supporters of slavery as a way of increasing their congressio-

nal representation and political power. They wanted slaves to be counted as full persons but settled on three-fifths. People of African descent would have had no real rights either way.

The three-fifths clause was enforced until the post-Civil War 13th Amendment freed all enslaved people in the United States, the 14th amendment gave them full citizenship, and the 15th Amendment granted black people the right to vote.

However, the “three-fifth clause” language was never removed from the Constitution.

One of Council Member King’s legislations calls on the federal government to add an amendment to add language that directly negates the Three-Fifth Clause by stating that African-Americans are 100 percent whole individuals.

“The systematic disenfranchisement of enslaved African Americans for hundreds of years created a system of sociopolitical inequality, the effects of which are still felt today. Subliminally, some members of society do not respectfully embrace African-Americans as whole human beings, equal to anyone in education, inventions, finance and wealth-development, politics and much more,” said Council Member King.

Congress Member Gregory Meeks expressed the importance

of the Three-Fifth Clause Awareness Day. “I congratulate Council Member Andy King for introducing New York City Council legislation that would recognize March 5th as an annual ‘ThreeFifth Clause Awareness Day.’ Although a majority of the delegates to the constitutional convention in 1787 deemed such a compromise as necessary to establishing the United States of America and its system of government, history recognizes Three Fifths Clause was one of the worst of many foundational compromises with slavery. Awareness of our history — the good, the bad, the ugly — can help us summon the courage and wisdom and unity to make the descendants of slaves whole, which is a precondition for making America whole.”

How humiliating it is to count a man as three fifths of another?

But this is a part of our U.S. history that helped shape some racist behaviors, such as Jim Crow.

More people need to be made aware of the Three-Fifth Clause, that it still exists in the U.S. Constitution and let’s do something about it!” said Dr. Hazel N. Dukes, President of the NAACP New York State Conference.

On March 9th, at a NYC Council Stated meeting, Council Member King will be introducing his legislations, LS 6687, which calls on the City of New York to declare March 5th as “Three Fifth Clause Awareness Day” and LS 5660, which calls on Congress to add an amendment to the Constitution directly negating the language of Article 1, Section, two Paragraph 3, known as the “threefifths clause.”

common mistake many first time prospective home buyers make is taking a larger mortgage amount than they can afford. This is an easy mistake to make because the lenders are basing your pre-approval on your gross income. However, you live on your net income which is usually 30-35% less than the gross amount. This additional amount can make a really big difference in having a comfortable mortgage payment or struggling to pay your mortgage and meet other monthly obligations.

Most lenders are only giving a pre-approval of 2 ½ - 3 ½ times your annual income. However, many lenders will increase that number if you are considering purchasing a multi-family home.

They will add about 70% of the projected rental income into your monthly gross amount.

Lenders only consider your housing costs and your minimum monthly credit debt when calculating your debt-toincome ratio. You will need to review your monthly living expenses to determine the amount of money you can afford to spend on a mortgage payment.

After reviewing your monthly household budget you can calculate what you can comfortably afford to pay for a monthly mortgage. Also if you are purchasing either a condominium or cooperative unit you must estimate having the additional expense of paying a monthly maintenance fee as part of your housing costs.

“harlem is… Downtown” Reception Draws 400 to Historic Federal Hall on Wall Street

n Monday, February 29, 2016 a special reception, hosted by Community Works NYC and the National Park Services marked the formal opening of Community Works’ largest exhibition to date featuring its four historic harlem is… exhibitions on Activism, Theater, Music, and Dance. The installation celebrates Harlem’s history from the 1600’s to the present, and honors the remarkable achievements of its

notables and institutions. The event attracted more than 400 + Harlemites, New Yorkers, community leaders, friends and honorees to historic Federal Hall at 26 Wall Street.

The harlem is…Downtown exhibition is part of the centennial year celebration of the National Park Service.

The centerpiece of the harlem is… Downtown exhibition is a historic timeline, tracing Harlem’s cultural history, developed in conjunction

with the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

The harlem is… installation is displayed on 3 floors of Federal Hall, and offers more than 150 displays-- including 75 portraits of community icons from all walks of life. It was developed through oral history projects with Harlem public school students and community participation—capturing archival images and text by noted Harlem historians and reflective writing by Harlem

students.

Michael Frazier, a historian for Federal Hall and the African Burial Ground, welcomed guests and shared the history of the arrival of the first enslaved African Amer-

icans in 1625, and traced the journey of African Americans from Lower Manhattan to Harlem.

Barbara Horowitz, founder/president of Community Works, noted that it was important to bring this exhibition to this historic venue, the site of our nation’s first government, and to lower Manhattan, where the history of African Americans in New York City began. She reflected that the oral history projects and the

student research for the harlem is…exhibitions began 15 years ago, but the work and these stories remain as relevant as ever.

Obama Administration Commits to School Diversity with “Stronger Together” Initiative

ddressing a crowded room of magnet school educators and supporters earlier this year, Acting U.S. Secretary of Education John King explained his personal commitment to school diversity and the importance of reducing racial isolation in schools.

“I was a kid who benefited from intentional school diversity, and I’m a parent who prioritizes that in how I think about the education of my children,” he said, describing his experiences at two intentionally diverse schools in New York City (P.S. 276 in Canarsie and Mark Twain Junior High in Coney Island).

“Teachers at those two schools saved my life,” he declared.

“They are the reason I am standing here today.”

King’s children both attend diverse public schools in Montgomery County, MD, which, as

he noted, has been working to implement intentional strategies to integrate both housing and education for decades. Now, he wants to encourage other communities to adopt that approach.

Thanks in large part to Secretary King, the Obama administration has now made a meaningful commitment to reducing racial and socioeconomic isolation in our nation’s schools, by proposing a $120 million request in the 2017 budget to fund the “Stronger Together” initiative.

The new competitive funding program would offer planning and implementation grants for voluntary, community-devel-

oped socioeconomic integration plans. The proposed 2017 budget also includes an increase in funding for the Magnet Schools Assistance program, another school integration program.

The Stronger Together program would supply four implementation grants (averaging $25 million each) for up to five years to support communities currently implementing strategies to improve racial and socioeconomic diversity. Stronger Together would also award 10 one-year planning grants (averaging $2 million each) to help support activities such as: fostering family and community engagement; assessing economic stratification; evaluating the adequacy of transportation infrastructure; increasing capacity for data collection, etc.

As members of the National Coalition on School Diversity (www.school-diversity.org),

we have been advocating for a clear, courageous investment in integration from the beginning of President Obama’s administration. Our country is long overdue for government-supported innovation in school integration.

And, while Congress is unlikely to pass the 2017 budget in its current form, we are confident that the commitment to school diversity will remain in some form in the final budget.

Studies consistently show that school integration by race and socioeconomic status is strongly associated with a range of short and long term benefits for all racial groups. As a whole, however, our nation’s schools remain overwhelmingly isolated by race and class, even as our country becomes increasingly diverse. Such isolation is not benign; rather, it fuels a vicious cycle of structural educational

inequity and, too, strips us of opportunities to build community across lines of difference.

Justice Thurgood Marshall’s observation that, “Unless our children begin to learn together, there is little hope that our people will ever learn to live together,” is now supported by a strong research base demonstrating the benefits of racial integration-not just for student achievement, but also for reducing interracial prejudice and strengthening relations between racial groups. This research should encourage us all to take integration strategies more seriously.

We are particularly pleased to see such a strong emphasis on community engagement and involvement in the Stronger Together program-voluntary school integration efforts are most effective when communities come together to develop the political will to co-create and implement

strategies that respond to their unique context. We can readily point to examples of remarkable community-led integration efforts in progress, in cities such as Hartford, CT; Richmond, VA; and New York, NY. But the lack of federal, state, local, and foundation support for this work makes it extremely challenging to initiate and sustain, even when there is strong interest.

Programs like Stronger Together would help change that.

Stronger Together would afford communities across the country the opportunity to come together and co-create learning environments where, truly, every student can succeed. It is now up to people on the ground-educators, parents, students, and community leaders-to ensure that the administration’s newly-ignited commitment to school integration receives the funding we believe it deserves.

Have Recurring Gastrointestinal Symptoms? Don’t Wait to Tell Your Doctor

M

any people find it difficult to discuss gastrointestinal problems with their doctors, yet such issues are far more common than you might realize. For example, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is characterized by recurring abdominal pain with either constipation or diarrhea, impacts nearly 35 million Americans -- and its effects go beyond physical discomfort, according to a new survey.

Three-quarters of IBS sufferers surveyed reported feeling frustrated and/or depressed according to a new survey from the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). And over half (52 percent) of all respon-

dents said their symptoms were extremely or very bothersome -- so much so that they reported they would give up caffeine (55 percent), their cell phone or Internet connection (47 percent), or even sex (40 percent) for one month for the chance to feel one month of relief.

The “IBS in America” survey, commissioned by the AGA and conducted with the financial support of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Allergan plc, reveals many insights that could prove useful to both patients and doctors. For example, a majority of sufferers said they wait more than a year before even talking with a doctor about their symptoms.

“Talking about bowel function habits is never easy, but it is concerning to see how long the respondents in this survey often waited to talk to a doctor. There may not be a cure for IBS, but there are treatments. Patients need to see a doctor, and

Your Will

I

n his book on spiritual healing (Being Centered) Romen Oleh Yaworsky writes “Your will allows you to function in the world according to your intentions and in harmony with your feelings.” It is not always easy to accept the fact that if you would like to change your internal or external environment your greatest asset is your will to do so. All too often we allow other people or situations to interrupt our ability to use the manifestation power of our will.

There is a great deal of truth

in the saying “Where there is a will there is a way”.

If you follow my articles you know that for the past few weeks I have been in the Amsterdam House rehabilitation facility recovering from an accident. My situation has provided me an opportunity to practice my theory of mental healing.

The will to heal is the first step in the healing process, a process that always starts internally. When you use your will with intent the healing process improves faster. This ability is a gift that we all have, but you must have faith. You must never allow fear and doubt to rob you of this gift.

It is always important to believe in your ability to use your will power to heal, never allow anyone to take that ability away from you even your doctors or wellness practitioners. In my personal experience I have seen a doctor tell a patient, that there is nothing else that can be done; but the will of the patient proved the doctor to be wrong.

Never allow anyone to take away your will to overcome health or any type of condition. Never give up the fight.

While doing my Taoist master training in South Korea I was told a very old story that speaks to the truth

of the above statement.

Once there was a famous Korean Taoist master healer, people came from far and near for his advice and healing skills. One day two men were among the many waiting to see the master healer. One had a terminal illness and the other had a very bad cold.

The master healer’s aids got the two patient’s reports mixed up. When the master healer read the report of the person with the cold, he told him that he had a terminal disease and would only live a few more months, he gave the patient a few herbs to allow him to live out his few months in peace. When

the master healer reviewed the report of the patient with the terminal disease he assure him that if he took the special herbs he prepared, he would be well in a few weeks. A few months letter the master healer had a surprise visit from the patient who had the terminal illness.

The patient was very happy and full of gratitude. The master healer was shocked but after discovering the mix up asked his aids about the patient who had the bad cold; only to learn that the patient had died not long after the last visit. Never let anyone take away your will to live, was the moral to the story.

ll around the country we’ve had strange weather patterns. I can remember always being able to count on running to Los Angeles to bask in the omnipresent sunshine and warm Santa Ana breezes whenever I wanted to escape New York’s snow and freezing temperatures. Now I find that more often than not, I need my winter coat in Los Angeles and that New York temperatures are warmer than in sunny southern California. But have faith! Regardless of the type of weather we are experiencing, spring is on the way! Have the changing climates reeked havoc on your

skin? Perhaps you’re beginning to notice that your skin is dry, itchy and flaking. You know that beneath the dryness is a brighter more beautiful layer of skin, but you just can’t get to it! It’s covered by a thin later of-and yes I’m going to say itASH! If you were a snake, you could count on crawling out of your skin in the spring, but alas, that’s not an option for us. So what can you do to improve the look and feel of your skin?

All you men out there listen up! These tips aren’t just for women; you’re not immune to dry skin problems either. You may be reluctant to do anything about it, but flaky skin is unattractive on anyone. If you like feeling soft skin, you can bet she does too. Go for it!

Before you do anything remotely cosmetic, check with your dermatologist or doctor.

Sometimes skin problems are the result of food allergies or contact dermatitis or indicate other, more serious medical problems. Only your medical provider knows the true difference between just plain old ashy skin and a serious rash that may benefit from medical attention.

I know that you don’t want to hear this next suggestion, but it works: Your skin needs to be hydrated, and the best hydrator in the world is water. So drink plenty of water and again, check with your doctor to see how many glasses he/she recommends that you drink each day. Soda doesn’t count, nor does the water in your coffee or tea. Plain old water is fine. Water helps flush your system and

remove toxins from your body, as well as keeping your skin moist so it maintains elasticity.

This may sound like a silly question, but are you using a lotion or water-soluble body oil after you bathe? A good soothing lotion or oil will help to seal in the moisture, and besides it just feels great on your skin.

If you’re allergic to fragrance, look for a fragrance-free lotion for sensitive skin. Years ago, I remember dropping a closed jar of Vaseline into my hot bath so that I could experience “Vaseline La-Hot.” I loved massaging the warm melted petroleum jelly into my skin and the feeling of a smooth satiny softness.

Remember the snake I mentioned earlier? Well, molting is what I would call the ultimate exfoliation process, but you can exfoliate as well. There are several inexpensive prod-

ucts you can buy off the shelf to easily remove dry skin, from salt scrubs to exfoliating lotions and creams. My favorite way to exfoliate gently is to combine baking soda with a gentle lotion-type cleanser. It’s great for your entire body, doesn’t scratch your skin, and washes down the shower drain easily.

You can use a soft wash cloth to gently rub the dry skin away.

Remember, your skin is a very delicate organ and does not appreciate being scrubbed too hard. And don’t forget those elbows and knees they need love, too. Summer follows spring, so if you want your skin to look good in those muscle-man tees, swim trunks, sleeveless tops, shorts and miniskirts, you’ll want glowing, ash-free skin. It’s possible if you start now. Think about it. See ya next week.

The Ambassador candidate for Congress Suzan Johnson-Cooke had an ecumenical brunch at her Harlem residence last week. It was a wonderful gathering of faith leaders and friends. The Rev. Dr. Calvin Sampson, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church led us in song and Deacon Sam Williams, also of Shiloh,

Sen. Bill Perkins dropped out of the competition to concentrate on his re-election to his current position. He has pledged support to Assemblyman Keith Wright.

The United Negro College Fund held its annual banquet at the New York Hyatt last week.

It’s clear that our future is intact with these bright and articulate students. Support the United Negro College Fund.

“Soul Serenade”

T

hose are five words that put a smile on a music aficionado’s face. A CD isn’t the same, they say. An MP3 is nowhere near as good. You don’t get the right sound unless you’re spinning a record, so vinyl is coming back – but, for people like Rashod Ollison in “Soul Serenade,” it never really left.

There was once a time when “Dusty” Ollison’s parents were happy.

He knows it’s true; he has evidence of it, in the form of a picture taken at the beginning of their marriage, which lasted 13 years. When they split, he was old enough to witness but too young to understand, having become inured to the fights, the cheating, and the drinking at his home near Hot Springs, Arkansas.

After Ollison’s father fled his family – leaving Ollison’s mother with a ‘tween and two small children – he rarely returned.

But he left a gift behind: stacks of vinyl.

Ollison says he remembers poking around music stores with his father, ogling covers, eager for approval of his taste in performers.

Chaka Khan, Bobby Womack, Stevie Wonder, Ollison recalls fascination with their record labels spinning on the turntable. Michael Jackson gave him comfort, Aretha was a mood barometer, they all taught him about grown-up love through lyrics. With his mother working two full-time jobs to keep food on the table, Ollison counted on music to anchor him. It was his means of escape as his oldest sister took her rage out on him, as his family moved repeatedly, as he

was bullied in school for “actin’ like a woman.”

He denied feminine gestures and a tender heart, but by age 13, he could no longer ignore that he was gay.

School, by then, had joined music as a thing of refuge; Ollison excelled at his lessons, achieved good grades, made friends, and expanded his playlist. As he grew, he also wondered about his father sometimes but was largely indifferent, even as the man lay dying.

And then an aunt told Ollison something that made him change his tune.

“Soul Serenade” starts where many good memoirs do: with a faded picture of a time that barely seems possible. From there, we’re surprised by a death that promises to taint much of what’s to come,

all wrapped in family lore.

But don’t get complacent.

Author Rashod Ollison doesn’t allow any lingering. Soon enough, his story becomes angry yelling, a smack upside the head, profanity, TV-as-babysitter, fists and sore feet. We’re taken from neighborhood to neighborhood as the lights are shut off, the rent isn’t paid, and he’s taunted with words that his sister has to explain. It’s chaos – but it’s also a darn good tale that it doesn’t dissolve into whining or poorme-ing, testament to Ollison’s storytelling skills.

“Soul Serenade” is one of those books that sticks in your brain – not only for the suggested music, but because the memoir itself leaves its mark. And if that sounds like solid gold to you, then give this book a spin.

Don’t Blindly Accept Vision Loss: Your Guide to Glaucoma

the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) my patient roster includes many patients over the age of 65, which is often when people begin to notice changes in their vision and start asking questions about how to prevent glaucoma. Unfortunately, glaucoma is not preventable and vision loss from the disease is not reversible. Early detection however, does provide ways to protect your eyesight and prevent complete vision loss.

Here are a few tips our VNSNY teams share with our patients to help catch glaucoma early: Knowledge is Power: It is extremely important to understand the facts about the disease and ask your doctor the right questions. For example, make sure your ophthalmologist looks at the eye nerve and not just the more common diagnoses of

high eye pressure. Also, know your risk factors for the disease.

Among people who are at an increased risk for glaucoma are African Americans, Latinos and those with diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

Get Screened: It is important to complete regularly scheduled eye exams every six to 12 months for those patients over the age of 65. Additionally, make sure to get any kind of eye irritation checked out immediately.

Symptoms: While glaucoma symptoms develop slowly, and sometimes not at all, some symptoms to look out for can include: Hazy vision Trouble reading Peripheral Vision Loss Sudden sight loss Loss of contrast sensitivity (the ability to see shades of the

same color) Problems with glare Light sensitivity Once diagnosed, it is extremely important to make some lifestyle changes to help you stay safe at home and on track with your treatment.

Make a Schedule: Write down the name, dosage, and number of times your medications should be taken each day.

It’s also important to space out treatments. Develop a regimen to make your medications part of your daily routine, administering them in the morning, at night, or during meals.

Learn Eye-Drop Installation: It is extremely important to put eye drops in correctly, as they are usually the main form of treatment for glaucoma. It can be extremely difficult to apply drops properly, especially if living alone. Due to these

challenges, it can be helpful to have the assistance of home health aides, such as those at Partners in Care, a licensed home care agency that is a part of VNSNY. A home health aide or family caregiver can help ensure that correct drops dosages are administered, and that both the eye lids and lashes are kept clean. It is also beneficial to keep your eyes closed for two minutes after receiving the drops, to ensure effectiveness of the medication.

Living with Impairment: While life with glaucoma may be an adjustment, there are a variety of tools and resources that can help you cope and maintain a comfortable level of vision. I usually recommend patients get magnifiers or computer text enlargers to reduce stress caused from frequent squinting and straining to read. Additionally,

if you happen to have one, iPads and other large-screen tablets have been known to enhance visual clarity as they allow for a high contrast, crisp display.

While there is no cure yet for glaucoma and vision loss cannot be regained, there are treatment options that can help preserve visual function. It is important to remember to always communicate with your entire care team if something seems amiss with your vision.

We recommend that all our patients over the age of 65 make regularly scheduled visits to the ophthalmologist a regular part of their routine healthcare maintenance.

“Our youngsters here at Brooklyn Technical High School epitomize what it means to be a student-athlete,” said Philip Zodda, coach of the Engineers girls cross-country team and the boys cross-country team at Brooklyn Technical High School. “They work extremely hard to excel in and out of the classroom.

While priority here is on their academic demand, they have all chosen to try to be just as successful in their fields of athletic competition. It is my pleasure to work with these young men and women each and every day. They are the leaders and creative minds of our future.”

“You have achieved success in the fourth-largest city in the United States,” said Borough President Adams at the ceremony. “From all those who played the game, you emerged victorious. I urge you to continue to excel, to care for your body — eating right and staying away from drugs. And I want you to remember that the relationships you build in sports will always remain a part of your life. I still know people who played football with me in high school, and we still support each other to this day.”

Dennis Walcott - New President and CEO of Queens Library

He doesn’t officially begin the job until March 15, but new Queens Library President and CEO Dennis Walcott is already hard at work at one of the nation’s largest public library systems. Since Queens Library announced his appointment last week, Walcott — a native of St. Albans — has been touring branches across the “World’s Borough.” He met with staff members and visitors and heard their insight on how their library is performing, and what could be done to make it better.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz said, “At its core, the Queens Library exists to serve its educational purpose as a community hub of literacy and culture for millions of families. Queens is grateful to the Board of Trustees for their dedication in convening an extensive search and selection process for the new President and CEO. I have full faith in the direction and future of the Library, and look forward to the great things to come under Dennis’ leadership.”
