Voza Rivers to receive the Harlem Fine Arts Lifetime Achievement Award – Feb 13 The Riverside Church
The New York 2020 Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) will present it’s LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to Producer Voza Rivers on Thursday, February 13th @ Riverside Church ( 91 Claremont Avenue) at 5PM.

HFAS is the the largest trav- eling Africian Diasporic art show in the United States. Since its inception in 2009 inspired by the Harlem Re- naissance HFAS provides a platform for African Di- asporic visionaries as well as American visual artists to exhibit and sell their art- work. The exhibit tour has travelled to 10 plus cities as well as showcased over 100 artists and galleries.
Voza Rivers is a New York producer, living in Harlem, who has produced some of the most trendset- ting works of the 20th cen- tury, including works by celebrated South African writer/actor/director Mbon- geni Negema: OBIE win- ner Woza Albert!, TONY nominated Asinamali! and TONY nominated Sarafi- na! In 1969, Ngema, Hugh Masekela and Rivers were nominated for a GRAM- MY for Best Show Album for Sarafina! As an events and special projects produc- er, Rivers has worked with Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Celia Cruz, Nancy Wilson, Tito Puente, Miriam Make- ba, Chaka Kahn and oth- ers. Rivers heads Harlem’s 55-year-old theatrical insti- tution New Heritage Theatre Group and has been Execu- tive Producer of HARLEM WEEK for over 45 years. He is also Chairman of the Harlem Arts Alliance, an Arts Service Organization.
