Israeli-American Groups Sponsor 'Israel Day' at NYSE and Awards Dinner By Tzvi Allen Fishman ith Israeli Flags flying from the flagpole on Wall Street the opening bell on Tuesday November 29 signaled the start of a full day of activities in honor of Israel Day at the New York Stock Exchange. The day was punctuated by a series of speeches and presentations by Israeli and American political leaders, business people and venture capitalists, each giving their take the special nature and remarkable success of the U.S.-Israeli economic partnership. Newt Gingrich: Palestinians an “Invented People” GOP Presidential Hopeful Shatters Mid-East Myths, Discusses Palestinians, Iranian Threat, and Pollard
eshiva University’s 87th Annual Hanukkah Dinner and Convocation – which attracted nearly 700 guests to the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan on Sunday night – conferred an honorary doctorate on United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who praised the institution for “inspiring its students to take on leadership roles and improve the world,” and went on to reiterate her firm commitment to Israel’s security. The event also paid tribute to a number of business leaders for their strong support of the school’s varied educational programs, and spotlighted the notable achievements of eight YU graduates, who each lit a candle on a large menorah to symbolize Yeshiva University’s “eight points of light” for the world at large.
