Around 500 infiltrators, some of them armed, attempted to storm Israel’s border with Syria Sunday. The events coincide with the Palestinian ‘Naqsa Day,’ the anniversary of the Six Day War in 1967. he protesters tried to enter Israel near the northern Golan Heights’ town, Majdal Shams, primarily from the southwestern Syrian town of Quneitra. As they converged on the border fence, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) called on the infiltrators in Arabic to cease progress before firing warning shots in the air. The IDF spokesperson told reporters that “soldiers shot into the air as dozens of protesters kept approaching the fences, despite warnings to stay away,” and that the IDF used “bullhorns to warn rioters in Arabic” to not approach the border fence. Indeed, in the hope of preventing loss of life, IDF personnel repeatedly issued the following warning via loudspeaker (a video of which can be found at IDFspokesperson.com): “Stop! You are breaching an international border. We warn you not to damage security infrastructure. Whosoever attempts to violate Israel’s sovereignty or security infrastructure
