The Obama administration has reversed its previous decision to prosecute alleged terrorist mastermind Khalid Sheikh Muhammed–and four others suspected of aiding in the 9/11 attacks–in a New York City Federal Courthouse, saying that they will now face military trials at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Attorney General Eric Holder blames the reversal on Congress, though in the eyes of many New Yorkers, he should be congratulating them. n a statement released on Monday, Holder defended his original choice of venue, and said “unfortunately, since I made that decision, Members of Congress have intervened and imposed restrictions blocking the administration from bringing any Guantanamo detainees to trial in the United States, regardless of the venue.
