United Nations, Europe and the USA seeks to put an end to 42 years of Gaddafi’s reign in Libya. Since Gaddafi's regime forced a violent crackdown on anti-government demonstrations that began over two weeks ago, the United Nations estimates between 600 and 2,000 peaceful protesters and innocent bystanders have been killed at his order. emonstrations inspired by recent parallel events in Tunisia and Egypt – reveal not only the artificiality of Gaddafi’s Libya but also the irrationalities and superstitions he has exhibited in running the country for the past 42 years. Over the years, Gaddafi has experienced coup attempts and assassination efforts on his life.
