Upon the President’s arrival to Cairo he participated in a welcome ceremony at the Quba Palace. Following the arrival ceremony, Obama held a bilateral meeting with President Mubarak of Egypt.

Obama is giving politicians a run for the spotlight. The former Chicago senator is not only America’s ‘Commander in Chief ’ but also America’s all-encompassing topic, as he dominates political headlines. However, it seems like Obama is also dominating National news. An article in the Washington Post that came out Thursday, introduced the many details of Obama’s announcement to bring permanent shelter to the many Hurricane Katrina victims that have been unable to settle back into life.

Obama’s current ‘Tour De Middle East’ launched this past Wednesday with the President’s heading to Saudi Arabia to meet with the country’s King Abdullah. This was followed by a television appearance broadcast from Cairo, Egypt. In Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah welcomed Obama with a military honor guard, a 21 gun salute and a red-carpet at the airport, of course. The private meeting was their first extended face-to-face meeting and took place at the king’s farm on the outskirts of Riyadh. There was plenty of press in the room to capture the formally prepared moments. During their meeting, Obama talked about the strategic relationship between the two countries.
