tors of the Everett Chamber of Commerce to discuss the contentious issues surrounding the city’s tax rate. “2018 ended roughly for us,� he said during the Jan. 17 meeting.

The city’s tax rate for fiscal year 2019 has been set at $12.38 per $1,000 for residential properties and $35.27 per $1,000 for Commercial/Industrial/Personal (CIP) properties. DeMaria said the tax rate continues to reflect a CIP shift of 175 percent.

The mayor also called attention to the Everett Public Schools.“The schools have been an issue, they’re overspending,� he said, adding that he would need to cut personnel in City Hall to generate additional funding – “The only place I can cut is people.�

In addition, he said the schools are overcrowded with 8,000 students.“That’s a serious problem,� said DeMaria.

He also said crafting the city’s $196.4 million operating budget was strictly business and that he carries no ill will against any individuals or departments.“I proposed a budget of things I think

In addition, DeMaria said the city will not reap the financial benefits of Encore Boston Harbor until the casino opens in June. However, he estimated that Everett could expect to receive“$30 million to $40 million� in annual tax revenue.

Looking ahead, DeMaria said he will be presenting his Urban Renewal Plan to bolster business in Everett Square. “Right now, you’re not getting much in taxes from Everett Square,� he said.� We’re going to rebuild the square and we’re going to do it in the next 18 months.�

DeMaria also emphasized the importance of participating in the 2020 census. “We need to get everyone counted here,� he said, adding that an accurate census figure would produce additional funding from the state.

Rapid bus line and bike path In other news, DeMaria said the city is almost done with the design phase of the southern portion of the rapid bus line.

He also said that Malden Mayor Gary Christenson and Melrose Mayor Gail Infurna have expressed an interest in extending the bus line to their communities. “It’s like a train pretty much,� he said, adding that the bus line could become a major fixture in the city, and “You can really make it look sexy.�

DeMaria said the bike path design phase is also nearing completion, and it will extend from West Street to the Assembly Row MBTA station in Somerville.

Governor will refile Dangerous Persons bill

Charlie Baker announced his intention to resubmit his Dangerous Persons bill designed to enhance police safety. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m astonished at how many unprovoked incidents there have been in the past year or so,â&#x20AC;? Baker said during the Jan. 15 meeting.

The bill, which was originally sent to the State House on Sept. 6, 2018, would â&#x20AC;&#x153;expand the list of offenses that can provide grounds for a dangerousness hearing and close certain loopholes at the start and end of the criminal process that currently limit or prevent effective action to address legitimate safety concerns.â&#x20AC;?

It was later discovered that Rivera had an extensive criminal history that included driving under the influence and involvement in a deadly armed robbery. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Mickey Rivera had some very serious charges pending,â&#x20AC;? said Baker.

However, he said that under the current law, judges cannot take a defendantâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s full criminal record into account when imposing a penalty. The law also requires that there be additional evidence of â&#x20AC;&#x153;dangerousnessâ&#x20AC;? in order to reject a request to release an offender. â&#x20AC;&#x153;The goal of this bill is to close loopholes,â&#x20AC;? said Baker.

Young Tide boys’ basketball team making believers with 5-0 start in the NEC

By Joe Mitchell o say that Coach Stanley Chamblain’s Everett Crimson Tide boys’ basketball team (6-1 overall, 5-0 in the Northeastern Conference (NEC) Large Division) is young would be a complete understatement.

Its top players are made up of freshmen and sophomores, who, believe it or not, are still adjusting to the pace of the varsity level.

There’s probably more pressure on these young players just

because of wearing the Everett uniform and the aura that it represents than from the actual opponent itself. With that said, they are standing up to that challenge, and last Friday night Malden was the latest team to witness this talented bunch of high school basketball novices. As a result, the Tide was still able to come away with a 5439 triumph.

said coach Chamblain. “Teams always get up for Everett, and that’s the pressure on these kids, no matter who the opponent happens to be on any particular day.”

“It’s all a part of our tradition of excellence here, especially in football and basketball,” added Chamblain, “and we have to live up to that past while also being the best possible team we can be.”

Against the Golden Tornadoes last week, the Tide played their most complete game since the opener against Saugus, according to Chamblain.

Sophomores Omar Quilter and Paulo Rodrigues were the leaders on offense with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Freshman John Monexant accounted for nine points. Sophomore Kevin Ariste was in early foul trouble in this game, but still fought hard on the boards, resulting in eight rebounds. He also chipped in with five points. Freshman Ralph Erayo provided much energy off the bench while also accounting for six points. Junior Jaden Mahabir was also credited with six points.

But despite this fast start, it’s still all about growth, said Chamblain. But make no mistake about it, he’s still ecstatic that his team is seemingly on a roll, and he knows they will only get better.

The Tide will now be facing visiting Winthrop on Friday, Jan.

Lady Tide basketball team improves to 4-2 with big road win over Malden ALDEN – The Everett High School girls’ basketball team rolled to its third straight Northeastern Conference (NEC) victory last Friday night with a 61-37 victory on the road over host Malden. Everett rolled out to a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased the lead to 37-17 at the halftime break on their way to a big win.

Everett improved to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the NEC with the win over Malden. Malden fell to 2-6 with the loss.

The Lady Crimson Tide went up against some of the iron of the Merrimack Valley Conference (MVC) this week in a pair of non-league losses: 68-29 to Andover on Monday and 53-38 to Billerica to even off at 4-4. **** Everett is on the road tonight against Winthrop with a 7:00 p.m. tapoff. Aviation Inspectors at Logan, R.I.’s T.F. Green, and Worcester Regional Airports warn of safety concerns amidst partial government shutdown OSTON – As the partial government shutdown moves into its fourth week, aviation safety specialists across New England and the country are speaking out to warn passengers that skeleton inspection staffing is lowering safety standards at airports throughout the

country. While a handful of inspectors were mandated back to work this week under “emergency”conditions, many remain sidelined by the shutdown, meaning more flights across the region are taking off without independent oversight by qualified aviation safety specialists at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Now those inspectors are speaking out, saying skeleton crews are not enough to keep the skies as safe as possible for area passengers.

While airline companies might conduct their own checks, the FAA safety inspectors charged with double-checking the works of those airlines and ensuring companies play by the rules have been sidelined since December 22. It’s a major concern for all travelers, say the workers who conduct the inspections.

“The government shutdown has put a tremendous strain on the workers, but more so I believe it has put a strain on the aviation industry and its safety,”said Stephen K. Brown in a statement released today on behalf of employees belonging to the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists

(PASS) union. Brown, a resident of Belmont, N.H., works at the FAA’s Boston Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), where he serves as an Aviation Safety Inspector, Safety Program Manager and National Resource Inspector.

Brown’s statement continues: “With the government shutdown and the furlough of Aviation Safety Inspectors across the nation, this line of defense on regulatory and safety oversight has just disintegrated.

Aviation Inspectors, like myself, have been forced to cease inspections on the airworthiness and operations of many commercial entities, from the large major air carriers down to the local commercial flight school. The nation and the public are now in a position where there is little to no oversight on all these commercial operations, yet they are allowed to operate. Unscrupulous or naive operators and operations can be conducted within our system without any regulatory oversight, inspections or investigations. While some in-

Baker-Polito administration announces plan to legalize wagering on professional sports OSTON – Governor Charlie Baker this week announced plans to file legislation that would permit people in Massachusetts to wager on professional sports.

The proposal would utilize the existing regulatory structure for gaming licensing in Massachusetts, including enforcement powers of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC), the prohibition on wagering by anyone under 21 years of age and penalties for various violations.

“Expanding Massachusetts’ developing gaming industry to include wagering on professional sports is an opportunity for Massachusetts to invest in local aid while remaining competitive with many other states pursuing similar regulations,” said Governor Baker. “Our legislation puts forth a series of commonsense proposals to ensure potential licensees are thoroughly vetted and safeguards are in place to protect against problem gambling and illegal activity. We look forward to working with our colleagues in the Legislature to pass this bill into law.”

“Over the last seven years, the Massachusetts gaming industry has grown into an economic driver for thousands of jobs associated with construction, hospitality and tourism,” said Lt. Governor Karyn Polito. “The Massachusetts Gaming Commission

has developed a comprehensive set of regulations, and passing this bill into law will allow the proper oversight of the industry’s next chapter in addition to providing critical support to the Commonwealth’s cities and towns.”

The administration’s proposal would authorize the MGC to issue newly created sport wagering licenses to the current Category 1 resort casino licensees (MGM-Springfield and Encore-Everett) as well as the Category 2 licensee (Plainridge). A current gaming license would be required to operate an on-site sports wagering lounge. Such opportunities would be extended to a Category 1 licensee should one be approved for Region C in the future.

Additionally, holders of newly created gaming licenses would be able to provide sports wagering online, or contract with an entity to provide the service. Online sports pool operators would need to be licensed as a gaming vendor, and the agreement would need to be approved by the MGC. Separate from existing Category 1 and Category 2 licensees, the administration’s proposal also allows for unaffiliated entities to conduct online-only sports wagering. Online-only operators would need to be fully qualified and licensed by the MGC as a sports wager-

ing licensee under the current process set forth by the Expanded Gaming Statute.

The application fee for an initial license would be set at $100,000 under this proposal with the funds dedicated to supporting the MGC’s administration of the application process. Once approved, an applicant will pay a licensing fee of not less than $500,000 that will need to be renewed every five years.

In-person sports wagering licensees would pay a tax rate of 10%, and online wagering licensees would pay a rate of 12.5%. The revenue generated from renewals, in-person and online wagering would exclusively go to the Gaming Local Aid Fund to finance local aid distributions, mirroring the current system for directing revenue from the Category 2 licensee. To level the playing field, a 12.5% tax rate would also be applied to daily fantasy sports contests, which are currently untaxed. The administration anticipates this proposal would generate $35 million in revenue in the upcoming Fiscal Year 2020 that will benefit all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth.

The legislation calls on the MGC to promulgate necessary regulations to implement sports wagering, including protections for people placing wagers, a cashless system for sports wagering and a verification system

to approve age and identity of potential online users. The MGC will also be asked to include the impact of sports wagering on individuals, businesses and the economy in its annual research report, in addition to annual assessments on non-Category 1 or 2 licensees to help support

compulsive gambling support programs.

Similar to the Commonwealth’s current regulations governing daily fantasy sports, wagers would not be permitted on high school, collegiate or amateur events.

Wagers would also not be permitted on esports.

FBI warns that posting hoax threats is a crime Launches campaign to educate the public to #ThinkBeforeYouPost he FBI’s Boston Division is launching a public awareness campaign to educate the public about the consequences of making hoax threats of violence to schools, events and other public places, and reminds everyone that any threat is taken with the utmost seriousness and will be quickly and thoroughly addressed by law enforcement. Hoax threats are not a joke – they are a crime!

In the aftermath of tragic shootings, such as the ones at Santa Fe High School in Texas and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, the FBI and law enforcement agencies around the country often see an increase in threats made to schools, events and other public buildings.

“You might be angry, you may be joking, or looking for a way to be heard, or seek revenge, but you need to stop and think before you post because making any threat, even a hoax, has consequences. It drains critical law enforcement resources, diverts first responders away from actual emergencies, and is an unnecessary burden on the taxpayers,” said Harold H. Shaw, who is Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Boston Division, which covers all of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. He added, “The FBI and our law enforcement partners spend countless hours following up on the tips we receive, all in an effort to determine their credibility and take steps to mitigate any risk to the public. There is no alternative – there is too much at stake – and we’re al-

Governor names Judd-Stein as Chair of the Gaming Commission B OSTON – On Tuesday, Governor Charlie Baker appointed Cathy M. Judd-Stein as the Chair of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC).

Judd-Stein, who has served as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel in the governor’s office since 2015, has served as a legal advisor to five Massachusetts Governors, Executive Director of Governor Deval Patrick’s Judicial Nominating Commission, and General Counsel for the Massachusetts State Treasury.

“Cathy has built an impressive legal career over the last several decades providing sound guidance on complicated legal matters involving state law and public policy,” said Governor Baker. “She is highly regarded not only here on Beacon Hill, but throughout the legal community for her expertise on a wide variety of legal issues, most notably the laws governing the ethics and conduct of public employees. Cathy’s experience in state government and incredible diligence and attention to detail for every task she takes on are some of the many attributes that qualify her to be the Chair of the Gaming Commission. We thank Cathy for her contributions to our administration and look forward to her taking on this critically important position with the Commission. I also thank Gayle Cameron for serving as Interim Chair

The MGC was created after “An Act establishing expanded gaming in the Commonwealth” was signed into law on November 22, 2011. The Commission is a five-member independent body that is responsible for developing and managing the process to select, license, oversee and regulate all expanded gaming facilities in the Commonwealth. The costs associated with operating the MGC are paid for by the gaming industry and not by Massachusetts tax dollars.

The MGC Chair is appointed by the Governor; one member is appointed by the Attorney General (whose appointee must have a background in criminal investigations and law enforcement); and one member is chosen by the State Treasurer (whose appointee must be proficient in corporate finance and securities). The remaining two commissioners are appointed by a majority vote of the other three members.

About Cathy M. Judd-Stein She currently serves as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel for the Office of the Governor. In that role, she provides guidance to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor on a broad array of legal issues. She has spent much of her career dedicated to pub-

lic service, advising extensively on public ethics and the state conflict of interest law, governmental reforms, and education and human services. From 2007-2015, she served as an instructor of “Ethics and Public Policy” for UMass Boston’s John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies.

In 2000, Governor Paul Cellucci appointed Judd-Stein to serve as Deputy Legal Counsel and his ethics advisor. She remained in that same position for Governors Jane Swift, Mitt Romney and Deval Patrick (through his transition), and then served as Governor Patrick’s Executive Director of the Judicial Nominating Commission. From 2011-2013, she worked at the Massachusetts State Lottery as Assistant Exec-

utive Director, Director of Policy and Special Counsel and then was named General Counsel of the State Treasury by the State Treasurer and Receiver.

She served in that capacity until her appointment by Governor Baker in 2015.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, Judd-Stein is a Trustee of St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vt. She is a member of the Women’s Health Advisory Board for Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and she is a member of the Board of Directors for GLAAD and a former President of the Class Officers Association at Dartmouth College.

Judd-Stein lives in Winchester, Mass., and she and her husband are the parents of three adult children.

"THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW" – Friday, January 18 at 5 p.m. is the official deadline for legislation to be filed for consideration during the 2019-2020 legislative session. The deadline is not etched in stone because even though the vast majority of proposals are filed by January 18, many late-filed bills are admitted to the Legislature following the deadline and throughout the 2-year session. In the recent 2017-2018 session, legislators filed more than 6,000 bills.

Massachusetts is one of a

handful of states that give citizens the "right of free petition"—the power to propose their own legislation. A citizen's proposal must be filed in conjunction with his or her representative or senator or any other representative or senator. Sometimes a legislator will support the legislation and sponsor it along with the constituent. Other times, a legislator might disagree with the bill but will file it anyway as a courtesy. In those cases, the bill is listed as being filed "by request"— indicating that he or she is doing so at the request of the constituent and does not necessarily support it. Citizens that are interested in filing legislation should con-

tact their own or any other representative or senator.

The bill challenged the constitutionality of sending Bay State men to fight without a Congressional declaration of war. It was approved by the House and Senate and signed by then-Gov. Francis Sargent.

The new law made national headlines.

To comply with the new law, Massachusetts initially filed a complaint in the U.S. Supreme Court. The high court declined to hear the case, which was later refiled in the U. S. District Court federal court and dismissed — rejecting the state's argument that President Richard Nixon had usurped the war-making powers of Congress. In a tragic footnote, Rep. Shea committed suicide in the fall of the year the legislation passed.

HOW LONG WAS LAST WEEK'S SESSION? Beacon Hill Roll Call tracks the length of time that the House and Senate were in session each week. Many legislators say that legislative sessions are only one aspect of the Legislature's job and that a lot of important work is done out-

Critics say that the Legislature does not meet regularly or long enough to debate and vote in public view on the thousands of pieces of legislation that have been filed.

They note that the infrequency and brief length of sessions are misguided and lead to irresponsible late-night sessions and a mad rush to act on dozens of bills in the days immediately preceding the end of an annual session.

Continued progress with Everett’s street light conversion he City of Everett has been working with Tanko Lighting to complete a citywide conversion to energy-efficient streetlights. Everett will join a growing number of Boston area municipalities which have converted their streetlights from high-pressure sodium (HPS) to light emitting diodes (LED). This project will replace approximately 2,400 streetlights throughout Everett, including standard streetlights called cobra heads, and a small number of decorative flood lights.

LED lighting technology has been used in small electronic devices for decades and has recently advanced to streetlight applications. LED streetlights are proven to be more efficient than HPS fixtures, have an expected lifespan of over 20 years and produce a higher quality of light than HPS streetlights. The higher quality of light allows the human eye to see more details and colors.

Precise light distribution combined with better light quality allows the replacement of higher wattage HPS fixtures with lower wattage LED fixtures, significantly reducing energy consumption.

“We want to reduce our City’s energy consumption and maintenance costs associated with street lighting.

Installing LED streetlight fixtures will save energy, require less maintenance, and will provide citizens with better light quality on streets and roadways,” said Mayor Carlo DeMaria. “We also want to complete the LED conversion to create more consistent street lighting throughout the City.

After the conversion is completed, the City is estimated to save approximately $345,000

in energy costs annually. In addition, the City will prevent an estimated 530,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions per year.”

ing with a local contractor to convert all City of Everett– owned streetlights starting in late January 2019. The installation is expected to continue through March. To min-

imize the environmental impact of the program, the existing HPS streetlights will be recycled in accordance with federal and state environmental guidelines.

BILL TERLECKY RETURNS AS NORTH SHORE NAVIGATORS GENERAL MANAGER YNN — A familiar face is returning to Fraser Field this summer as the North Shore Navigators have announced that Bill Terlecky will return as the General Manager, effective immediately. Terlecky, who was on medical leave during the 2018 season, is entering his 41st year in baseball.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Lynn community for the overwhelming support over the past couple of months,” said Terlecky. “The people of Lynn have opened up their arms and stood by my

side the whole way, and for that I will always be thankful.

“While the battle still rages on, I am so happy to officially resume my duties as General Manager,” continued Terlecky.

“When you've done something for 41 years it’s not a job, it’s a way of life.”

The Navigators are coming off a strong 2018 season in which the organization was named Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) Organization of the Year. Additionally, Terlecky has been named 2018 FCBL Executive of the Year.

“While quite a surprise to be recognized as our league's Executive of the Year, we humbly accept this honor and I look forward to a return to the Navigators to work with both Ashley Laramie and Joe Gill,” said Terlecky.

In 2018, Terlecky’s Navigators were named FCBL Organization of the Year for the second time in four years.

TEXT TO 911 NOW AVAILABLE ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH

Texting should only be used during an emergency when you are unable to make a voice call to 9-1-1. Making a voice call is the most efficient way to get access to emergency services.

Text-to-9-1-1 will be useful for citizens who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired. Text-to-9-1-1 eliminates the need to use ancillary Teletypewriter (TTY) equipment, or third party services to access 9-1-1.

What Happens Next?

The 9-1-1 professional in the emergency call center will ask you many questions, will assist in sending first responders to the location you identify, and may provide instructions on things for you to do.

Why Didn’t My Text Go Through?

Messages sent to Text-to-9-1-1 may not be received. If you attempt to send a Text-to-9-1-1 where the service is not available, wireless carriers provide an automatic "bounce-back" message. Bounce-back messages are intended to minimize the risk that you mistakenly believe that your text was sent and received by an emergency call center. As part of the bounce-back message, you will be advised to contact emergency services by another means.

Text-to-9-1-1 is currently available throughout the Commonwealth. However, across the country, Text-to-9-1-1 may only be in certain locations. Whenever possible, you should always make a voice call to 9-1-1 during an emergency.

Are There Any Text-to-9-1-1 Limitations I Should Know About?

Text-to-9-1-1 uses native texting technology called Short Message Service (SMS). Therefore, you must have a text or data plan on your mobile device to Text-to-9-1-1 and you should avoid sending:

Could You Have Glaucoma?

Dear Savvy Senior, What are the warning signs for glaucoma? My 65-year-old brother lost some of his vision because of it but never had a clue anything was wrong. Could I be at risk too?

Concerned Sister Dear Concerned, It’s called the “silent thief of sight” for a reason. With no early warning signs or pain, most people that have glaucoma don’t realize it until their vision begins to deteriorate. Here’s what you should know.

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can damage the optic nerve and cause vision loss and blindness if it’s not treated.

This typically happens because the fluids in the eye don’t drain properly, causing increased pressure in the eyeball.

There are two main types of glaucoma, but the most common form that typically affects older people is called open-angle glaucoma. This disease develops very slowly when the eye’s drainage canals become clogged over time, leading to blind spots in the peripheral or side vision. By the time you notice it, the permanent damage is already done.

Are You at Risk?

It’s estimated that more than 3 million Americans have glaucoma today, but that number is expected to surge to more than 4 million by 2030. If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, you’re at increased risk of developing it. · Are you African American, Hispanic/Latino American or Asian American? · Are you over age 60? · Do you have an immediate family member with glaucoma? · Do you have diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, migraines or extreme nearsightedness? · Have you had a past eye injury? · Have you used corticosteroids (for example, eye drops, pills, inhalers, and creams) for long periods of time?

What to Do Early detection is the key to guarding against glaucoma. So if you’re age 40 or older and have any of the previously listed risk factors (especially if you’re African American), you need to get a comprehensive eye examination every year or two. Or, if you notice some loss of peripheral vision, get to the eye doctor right away.

If you are a Medicare beneficiary, annual eye examinations are covered for those at high risk for glaucoma. Or if you don’t have vision coverage, check into EyeCare America, a national program that provides free glaucoma eye exams and there are no income requirements. Visit EyeCareAmerica.org or call 877887-6327 to learn more.

While there’s currently no cure for glaucoma, most cases can be treated with prescription eye drops, which reduce eye pressure and can prevent further vision loss. It cannot, however, restore vision already lost from glaucoma. If eye drops don’t work, your doctor may recommend oral medication, laser treatments, incisional surgery or a combination of these methods.

She was intelligent, yet light hearted, and a gifted, and compassionate care-giver, possessing rare qualities to genuinely comfort all of her patients. Alice B Porcaro At 72 a resident of Everett and Littleton NH passed away on Sunday January 6 at her second home in Littleton NH. Alice was born on August 5, 1946 in Everett, one of ten children of the late Walter and Bridget (Southwell) Seward. She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School Class of 1965.

Alice married the love of her life Alfred Porcaro and they were married for 48 years. She was the best friend to her husband and they shared many wonderful times and memories. They spent time between their home in Everett and their second home in Crazy Horse Family Campground, nestled in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

Her children stated that their mother always had a smile on her face. She was a happy person who spread warmth and kindness to all she met. Her fondest memories were spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed times at Sebago Lake with a great majority of her family, the Winthrop Yacht Club but most of all at the Crazy Horse Campground.

Alice had an enormous love for family and friends. Nothing meant more to her than spending time with Al and her children and grandchildren and seeing

Co-Interim General Managers Ashley Laramie and Joe Gill will both be returning to the organization. â&#x20AC;&#x153;I am very excited that both Ashley and Joe will return to Fraser this summer,â&#x20AC;? said Terlecky. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Last season, under their leadership, the Navs were able to operate without missing a beat. We have a great team in place to lead this organization.â&#x20AC;?

Laramie, who is entering her 10th season with the Navigators, is now the Director of Operations. She will oversee group sales and game day operations.

Gill, who is entering his ninth season with the Navigators, will continue in his role overseeing the clubâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s communication but is now the Director of Player Procurement.

In addition, Joshua Kummins will return as Director of Media Relations for the 2019 season, Eric Roberts will return as broadcaster, Gus Baylow will return as â&#x20AC;&#x153;Voice of the Navigators,â&#x20AC;?

Joe Scurto is coming back as Stadium Operations Manager, Pam Laramie will return as Director of Concessions, and Derek January has been brought on board to aid with player procurement.
