ness Giannino’s Greenhouses on Malden Street stood. “Thanks for being here,� Jessica Giannino, his granddaughter and Revere City Council president, said, trying to hold back tears. “We lost our patriarch of the family a year ago today, and it’s the hardest thing we’ve ever been through.� Mayor Brian Arrigo said Saturday’s ceremony reminds him of the mural unveiling on Thursday afternoon, which features an old drive-in theater and West Revere’s farming history. “This is a dedication to a man who embodied that history,� Arrigo said during the ceremony. “For him, Revere was not only a place to live, but a place of public service.� Christy Giannino served for 32 years on the Revere Fire Department, was an active member of the Lions Club and provided free med flights for trauma victims requiring immediate medical care, Arrigo added. Revere’s Veterans Services Director Marc Silvestri then presented Christy Giannino’s wife, Joann, with a Challenge Coin, a symbol of victory dating back to World War I, to thank Christy Giannino for his service. He acknowledged the City Council and School Committee, the Mayor’s Office and Police/Fire Department personnel, State Senator Joseph Boncore and Legislative Aide Sofia Forgione of Massachusetts House Speaker Bob DeLeo’s office, who were
