Going forward in 2023 , one of our chapter's main goals is to find new and non-traditional referral sources and to continue providing education on the referral process as part of our efforts to reach every eligible child, regardless of geography, socioeconomic status, race, or illness. While our referrals for wishes generally decreased during the pandemic, our goal remains to find every eligible child, especially those who might have been missed during COVID. We hope to further our reach outside the hospital settings and expand to educate medical providers in clinics and more remote medical offices, so that we can connect with every child who has a critical or life-threatening illness. We have added to our team a Medical Outreach and Intake Manager, whose role is to educate the medical community throughout our territory on current national eligibility criteria. This position will also oversee the referral intake process in an effort to help solidify relationships with local medical providers, ultimately increasing and diversifying our referral sources. Our ultimate goal in 2023 is to ensure equitability in wish granting in its entirety, from the initial referral to the completion of the wish. We remain focused and dedicated to our mission to grant a wish to EVERY eligible child within our community.
