3ABOUTME WelcomeHi! to my portfolio. I am 24 years old and graduating as a product developer at the University of Antwerp. I like working with my hands such as prototyping. I care about the environment and like to try ecological alternatives of products. LEISURE My regular weekly activity is being an animator at a youth movement, Chiro Herenthout. Where I also obtained my animator certificate. We take care of children from 6 to 18 years old. However, there is much more to it, such as organizing events. I also like to be creative in my spare time. From time to time I sew and knit clothes, weld furniture or make stained glass. Besides these activities I also try to have an active lifestyle. I regularly exercise, go on bike rides and go snowboarding or surfing during the holidays.

PLANTERS FOR REHABILITATION

7

This assignment was part of the Internati onal design week. This is a workshop week organized by the Faculty of Design Sciences at the University of Antwerp. During this week the concept of “Resilience” was central. I attended the workshop resilience and re habilitation given by Stefan Vandervelden in collaboration with the organization To Walk Again. In this workshop, students were expected to use their empathic capacity to make the life of one of the rehabilitators of the centre more pleasant or to improve the rehabilitation process. We worked on this project for one week in groups of 3 people. Our project was about rehabilitator Louis. He had suffered a brain haemorrhage and therefore had difficulty getting back to his hobbies. We came up with a solution for Louis. We designed a garden in which people with a physical disability can garden without worries.

BRUT: GARLIC PRESS For the product and ergonomics course, a product family of kitchenware was designed as a group. In a group of 3 we worked on 3 designs that would fit in one product line: an olive pitter, a can opener and a garlic press which you can see here. The various design choices have been tested against ergonomic re quirements. This was done by means of some prototypes of the designs. The designs were based on a persona.

PASSPORT PHOTO MACHINE This assignment was carried out individually as a bachelor’s thesis. The aim was to design a photo machine that makes passport photos that comply with the strict rules on passport photos. I myself have also added some other requi rements such as wheelchair accessibility, hybrid energy source and suitable for smaller Thespaces.aim of the assignment is to make use of all the tools and techniques that have been learned over the years. The entire process has been completed from materialization and production to use and possible incorrect use. A prototype has been made of the model for testing with users.

For this group project we worked on mental health problems of youth and young adults as a result of social media. The aim of the project was to make these problems a topic for discussion and to lower the threshold to seek help. The concept consisted of a pop-up wall where passers-by could get all kinds of information about the topic and could participate. In addition to the pop-up wall, there were also benches where passers-by could have a good conversation anonymously.

AWARENESS POP-UP

The main hypothesis was the difference in compositions and melting temperatures of the plastic used, due to the different degrees of degradation. Tests have shown that there is a certain difference in the composition of the different colour samples. The team could identify four different colours namely blue, white, green and yellow. The tests have shown that the green and yellow samples were not suitable for use in an extrusion process.

BLUEPRINT: MARINE WASTE FOR 3D PRINTING

The team continued the process with only white and blue samples. White and blue marine waste bottles were collected, washed and cut into pellets. These pellets were used in a polymer extruder with which the team managed to create a 3D printing filament. Afterwards, the team ran tests on the created filament to check the properties. These properties were very similar to virgin PET which means that the extruding process does not affect the properties.

The presence of plastics in the oceans is becoming increasingly noticeable and presents a danger to marine life and human health. This project aimed to find a new solution for the recycling and revalorisation of marine plastic wastes. This study was a con tinuation of a previous project, which investigated the possibility of creating filaments of marine waste recycled PET for 3D printing, but the created filament was not usable for 3D printing.

In order to analyse the reasons why filaments could not be created with this material, several tests have been carried out.

This was the project we were working on during the European project semester at ENIT in a group of three. this assignment was more focused on engineering and less on design.

VANTUR is a product service system (PSS) in the campervan sector. It is a rentable interior to convert a van into a campervan without causing damage or making permanent adjustments. This system ensures that the van can again be used as a delivery van and that the user does not have to provide any storage space.

VANTUR:choice. CAMPERVANRENTABLEINTERIOR

VANTUR also brings an advantage to the rental companies of vans. These companies find that their rental plummets during the holiday periods. By working together with this concept, they can rent out more vans during this period. The concept consists of various modular components. Therefore different configura tions can be made for different models of vans. All components are made of light and durable material so that this does not exceed the maximum load capacity of the van. The concept includes all the necessary functions and amenities that make a trip pleasant and Thiscomfortable.PSSincludes an application in which the user can easily compose and reserve the interior according to a type of van of their

STAINED GLASS In the master, the freedom was given to do a project of your choice. I chose to learn how to make stained glass windows. I did a workshop to learn the basics, then I continued on my own. The result of my self-designed window can be found here.
