My name is Maia Samuelsson and this is my portfolio from my class Idea Visualization for Graphic Design at Nova Southeastern Univesrity by Kolos Schumy.
In this course I have futher developed my skills in programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I have also gotten experience with Adobe Firefly, Express, and Dimensions, plus Figma.
I wanted to create a stylish logo for my imaginary brand: Crown Diamond. I tried different fonts, different placings of the diamond and played around with the typography. I asked my family and friends to get an understanding what people thought. Once I narrowed down my choices, I took the time to create my own diamond in Adobe Illustrator using shapes with vector lines to ensure they would stay sharp.
To match the style that I had envisioned for my diamond company, I wanted to create a stylish website and mobile application with minimalistic style and a color pallet to represent my company as a luxurious and trustworthy brand. I created it in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but also added special elements like a Photoshop animation of the hand to make it more interactive.
For my elective project surrounding Crown Diamonds, I thought it would be very fitting to create a ring box and a gift bag using the amazing Adobe Dimensions.
I felt like I also wanted to create a mock up of the patterns and gift papers that could be created with the logo I made. Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I was able to create these variations of my logo and warped them onto paper rolls.
To finish this project, I made four variations of an advertisment campaign for Crown Diamonds. On the left we have ads for Facebook and Google...
... While on this side we have ads for Instagram story and Instagram post. I adapted each page so that the right amount of inforamtion would be presented,

Barbie Fashion, on and off the course
For this project, I wanted to create a catalog for golf fashion. As a female athelte, I find there is a big market and room for development in this industry, so I wanted to lead with this example. I started with a sketch of how I wanted to map out my editorial pages and inventory pages. Thanks to InDesign and parents pages. this project was easy and fun.
I came up with a few ideas of a completely new and unique company, which you can see in my sketches. I narrowed it down to an AI clothing company that would help you pick an outfit based on the clothes you already have in your wardrobe. I used a new program called Figma to create a mockup of the links that this application would have. I create pop-ups and all kinds of features, as well as more Photoshop animations. I also used Adobe Firefly to achieve some images. By clicking on the Youtube QR you get to see a small video I made to demonstrate.
This was the look I was going for, and I used this mood board to inspire my design and color choices.
This was my first time ever creating a real package design, With Adobe Dimensions I was able to create a mockup of my first project, the Crown Diamonds logo, so I wanted to take this opportunity to create a package design in paper of what this mockup would look like in the real world. I see this as being a prototype for the real ring box for this company, or maybe as a creative new way of advertising.
It took a few attempts, but this is my final product. When clicking on the heart you can see my first versions as well as my final design, which has two different versions for the logo.
