Hello!
My name is Mahmoud Ali
A student who is deeply interested in learning, exploring and immersing myself in architecture.
Passionate about sketching, photography and design, I seek to improve my acquired skills and to develop further ones constantly. Curious to acquire great knowledge in spaces and forms, and to understand the physical relationship between people and architecture. This curiosity has led me to develop an interest in the urban design aspect of architecture, which led me to the city of Rome, where i am currently pursuing my studies in the master program of Urban Regeneration.

This project analyses translation as a point of intersection and rationality that redefines our concept of spatial axis and territorial coordinates. The ”GEO” brings disciplines of geometry and geography into an alternative model of spatial relationships. Reflecting on Euclidean Geometry, a translational act as a spatial act is to be understood from a geometrical angle, as a process of dynamic transformation between two geographical and structuraly compatibale spaces. Translation, as a political activity between the professional couple, determines how the users acquire a space and, thus, maps a new correspondant assembly of the MICROHOME.

“GEO” performs in five different scenarios allowing for a hybridty of the political state translating each of the user’s geographical position in space. As the geometry alters, the light entering the room changes progressively. The professional couple within “GEO” are reminded to reconnect and disconnect with each other and their surroundings.
Living Scenarios
08 Selected Works GEO
“GEO” translates geographically, whether in rural or urban conditions, to replicate horizontally or vertically creating a living machine. The form of the living machine once assembled verticaly, for a scenario of an urban dense context, changes form constantly depending on the user’s interior function, while keeping a hydroponic urban farming wall well stated in the static structure.

HOTEL LOBBY
Bachelor Degree - 8th Semester
Beirut, Lebanon
2022
This project consisted of modifying the interior design of the hotel lobby, while taking into consideration all the design regulations that occur while dealing with an international chain of hotels , like the InterContinental Hotels Group. Each of the hotels is a destination in its own right with a distinctive style and ambience, so to follow a certain design criteria ,all these aspects must be taken into consideration in the design phase and forward. The main idea behind the project is to bring the relationship between the exterior and the interior to life, and make the guest live through both spaces simultaneously. The exterior design of the hotel has been expressed with the horizontal flow and the modular grid array of wooden elements , from which the lobby design has took inspiration.

Environmental Design
Master Degree - Second Semester Rome, Italy 2023
Tiburtino III is designed by Giuseppe Nicolosi and Roberto Nicolini , which is composed of about 20 residential buildings with 515 dwellings. The settlement is conceived as a real neighborhood with a complex articulation of public space, which, however, in the construction phase has not been realized according to the planning expectations. In the 1970s, some 35 years after its construction, the Tiburtino III public housing neighboorhood is dilapidated: the houses are in disrepair, there are no services and it is completely devoid of greenery. A sign of change is given at the national level by Law No. 167 of 1962, with which the housing problem is to be solved. Tiburtino III is included among the urban regeneration interventions as one of the Area Plans in the northern part of the capital.
