FROM THE EDITOR

When I think about the things that matter, it’s at the forefront of my mind that we need to leave the future generations something. The way it’s going there will be nothing left. That’s why we need to start making a change. I used to be filled with the sense of ‘one person can’t make a difference so it doesn’t matter if I don’t do it’, and I think this is the way a lot of people think. I had a friend say the same about voting in the general election, that one vote doesn’t make a difference but in the 2017 general election non-voters outnumbered the winning MP’s majority. Meaning that they could’ve made a difference. I had the same thoughts towards sustainable living, that me making changes wouldn’t matter that much. But we need to get out of this mindset and do what we think is right to inspire others. I’m in no way preaching and saying that I am the most sustainable person in the world, but I realise my actions and what I can do to help. No more plastic straws, less food waste, I think more about the products I am buying. At this point in time, that’s all I can ask you to do too.

VITA was created to carry on this inspiration by providing you with relevant, informative and motivating stories so you can make the right changes for yourself and the planet. Jessica Bradbury
