Hello everyone, thank you for joining us for the 33rd Rustic Fayre organised by Verwood Rotary Club. I would like to thank all our fellow Rotarians for all their hard work putting this event together as well as all our friends and local businesses for all their help and support. A special thank you to all our stall holders who support us year on year and of course all our entertainers. We have some new acts this year (including the BMX Stunt Team in the main arena) as well as some of our old favourites. We have live bands playing in the beer tent for your entertainment, so why not pay the beer tent a visit and have a little boogie along to the music.
The Club President gets to choose a charity for the year and this year I have chosen Home-Start Wessex. The charity has been helping families for the past 30 years and has seen demand grow. Their aim is to help the most vulnerable and disadvantaged families with at least one child under five.
All the monies raised today will go to various local, national and international charitable

organisations and projects.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves today and remember every time you spend money you are helping your community.

We are delighted to welcome Jeff Mostyn to officially open this year’s Rustic Fayre!
Jeff is the former Chairman of AFC Bournemouth, a celebrated motivational speaker, and the author of The Chairman — shortlisted for Football Book of the Year at the 2026 Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Book Awards, in association with the Sunday Times.

Before his football journey began, Jeff spent 22 years in financial service. But it was a single moment in 2009 that changed everything: with AFC Bournemouth on the brink of extinction, Jeff was asked live on air to find an extra £100,000 to save the club. His instant, instinctive response — now known as the “Famous Nod” — kept the Cherries alive, sparking an extraordinary rise from the depths of the football league all the way to the Premier League.
Jeff remains deeply involved in the game today through the FA Council, with a particular focus on disability inclusion in football and is a familiar voice on the BBC, Sky Sports, NBC, and TalkSport. Away from football, Jeff is a passionate supporter of good causes closer to home, acting as Patron of the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation and Ambassador for both Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.
Our club was formed in 1988. We are a small and friendly club in Verwood who enjoy getting together to support in our local community and further afield. We are also part of Rotary International, a global network with over 1.2 million members working together in over 165 countries worldwide. This involves volunteering skills and resources as well as helping to raise funds to support national and international needs.
Being a member is the opportunity to really make a difference and create lasting impact in the community. We also have a lot of fun!
If you are interested in finding out more about membership or volunteering: do come and talk to us at the Rotary Tent at the fayre have a look at our great website to find out more: verwoodrotary.org.uk | email: secretary@verwoodrotary.org.uk

Did you know you can buy entry tickets online before the day using the QR code?
If coming by car please follow the signs and all directions given by marshals for parking (there are changes this year) Many stalls will take cards, but we advise bringing some cash too. If it’s hot, don’t forget your sunscreen protection (and maybe an umbrella in case of showers!)

The Rustic Fayre exists to bring our community together for a day to enjoy while raising funds. It wouldn’t happen without the support, generosity and community spirit of so many people, and we thank everyone who helps in ways big and small. Behind the scenes, Verwood Rotarians spend many months bringing it all together; we are thankful for all the support that makes it possible.
