Hello and welcome to the very first programme for Poole Goes Vintage! I’M VERY PROUD THAT MY COMPANY, STIR EVENTS, IS DELIVERING THIS EVENT ON BEHALF OF THE BCP COUNCIL THIS YEAR. As usual it is free for everyone to attend and enjoy but what’s not usual is the fact that its on for two days for the first time! We kick start the event with a Friday Night Vintage Party starring Miss Annie & The Midnight Shift at the Poole Quay Hotel overlooking the marina – tickets available from our website www.eventsbystir.com and on Eventbrite. The two day event is funded partially by Festival Coast Live! and the timings are 11am-7pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. We have a fabulous line up which we hope you will enjoy with a range of bands and music from the 1940’s – 1960’s. Rock’n’roll, Rockabilly, swing, jive and surf to name a few. As well as the music we have some super vintage traders selling clothing, accessories and gifts. You can also get your hair done or your face painted! Don’t forget to get into that vintage style – there’s a competition for the best dressed King and Queen of Vintage. Mr D! Dave Norrell DJ will keep you entertained on the big stage near the Poole Quay Hotel while the Retro Grooves DJ will be in the vinyl DJ booth further down the Quay. The Dorset Queen will have some live music as
well as a lot of the venues on the Quay so it’s definitely going to be a rock'n'roll weekend! There’s some fairground rides for the children as well as face painting and lots more – also look out for the Poole Pirate! As the event is on the Quay why not travel by bus? We are all about sustainable travel and want to encourage you to look at pubic transport to get to the event as there is parking but not huge amounts. As always huge thanks to our sponsors who have supported us with this first event – we hope your trust in us is seen to be justified! Lots and lots of gorgeous classic cars are booked in for the weekend so we can all sit and dream of bygone times whilst enjoying a totally up to date vintage fest! AT STIR EVENTS WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS MAKING OUR EVENTS AS GREEN, SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY AS POSSIBLE. It’s definitely a ‘work towards’ list but we are on the journey. • • • • • •
We encourage all food packaging to be made from either wood, paper/cardboard or leaves and this includes straws. Fish, charcoal, and wood must be from a certified sustainable source. All traders must take their waste home with them. We have recycling bins in locations along the Quay, plus non recycling bins. We source local traders and love to work with artisans who make local foods and goods We have recently become Ambassadors for Sustainable Palm oil and will encourage those trading and working with us to use it.
An eco-friendly event is one that is all about the effect and influence of the event on our planet The world is a wonderful place – if we can help a little by making our events as sustainable as possible then we feel we are on the right track – but we are always open to suggestions.

Poole Quay POOLE QUAY IS FOUND ON THE SOUTH COAST OF THE UK APPROXIMATELY 6 MILES WEST OF BOURNEMOUTH AND IS DORSET’S SECOND LARGEST SETTLEMENT AFTER BOURNEMOUTH. Poole is a popular tourist resort offering visitors many excellent attractions including the lively Poole Quay, historic town, Poole Harbour (the largest natural harbour in Europe) and miles of first class golden beaches such as Sandbanks Beach. Poole is also home to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) headquarters and the impressive Sunseeker boatyard opposite the Quay (it is the largest UK-based luxury yacht maker).
