As you are starting to read this article this month, I want you to pause right position. There is no such thing as ‘bad’ posture but there are many patients taller, shift on the chair or pull their shoulders back, down or try and work


Initially the pain we feel is usually ligamentous. Ligaments join bone to bone in a stack, with your head on top, your pelvis and legs below and arms to the middle with 12 ribs attaching at the back and most reaching round to the sternum at the front, and the number of ligaments holding that skeleton together from the spine outwards is impressive.
Now- ta Now- take your little finger of one hand and gently bend it backwards with the other hand until it is on stretch. minutes. But if you were to hold it on stretch for 8 hours a day (and I’m not suggesting you actually try that!), you before you had a chance for it to recover, you would be stressing/ stretching it again.
But- that is what we do with our ligaments in our spine by prolonged ‘poor’ posture. We are in effect ‘hanging’ shoulder pain becomes a constant irritating companion. Think how you sit with your iPad or phone in your lap,
