Fete on the Field 2025

Urban Cycles

Our high-energy extreme sports show sees mountain bike athletes perform a series of daring feats on a purposebuilt rig – feats that require incredible balance, accuracy and an element of crazy. Using head mics to communicate with the crowd, our riders will have the whole audience rooting for them to nail their manoeuvres.

Funfair

A regular attraction at the Fete on the Field, we welcome William Coles again this year, providing a range of rides for the family to enjoy.

Krazy Kev

Krazy Kev is the south’s leading children’s entertainer. He has performed across the globe and is renowned for his silly comedy and amazing magic skills. We are delighted to have him entertain the children at Fete on the Field.

This is another very popular display that attracts hundreds of onlookers.

Liberty’s Birds of Prey O’Leary Dancers

Charlotte Geary + Local School Choirs

Amongst the entertainers at the fete will be one of the up and coming young stars of the South, local girl Charlotte Geary. Charlotte will be singing songs old and new in her own exciting style. Definitely a star of the future from Ferndown.

The O’Leary Academy of Irish Dancing is based in Bournemouth and is under the direction of Kate O’Leary. Kate established the school in 2019 with just 7 dancers, she now has over 50 dancers ranging from 4 years of age up to and including adults.

Kate’s dancers perform at all levels, from exam work to dance shows and at International Championships.

Waggy Tails

Waggy Tails Rescue is a registered charity based near Poole and Bournemouth. The Waggy Tails story is about happy dogs, happy people, and happy homes. We always put the animal first – then the rest will follow.

We have a no destruction policy. No healthy animal is ever put to sleep, which means that as well as re-homing we also look after dogs in long term foster homes. These tend to be dogs who are too ill or too old to be re-homed but we feel that these “oldies” have a right to a dignified and happy retirement. We need foster homes and sponsorship for our “oldies” whose vet’s bills are consistently high!

We take in animals from families/individuals who find themselves no longer able to care for their pets. We have no age restrictions and do our best to match animals to suitable homes, providing companions for elderly people as well as to families and young people.

Verwood Concert Brass Forest FM

Forest FM is part of the local community and its aim is to build upon the area’s unique community spirit, helping it to grow and prosper. Unlike many radio stations, Forest FM operates a true ‘open door’ policy and have allocated a significant percentage of airtime each day to all of the local clubs, societies, organisations and indeed individuals who might want to participate.

Crucial to Forest FM’s success is the local business community. It’s their support that keeps them on air and provides facilities for their listeners.

Verwood Concert Brass was started by Mr Jesse Shearing in 1864 when it was known as “Verwood Temperance Band”.

In 1929 they took part in the first Verwood Carnival. The band was associated with the village brickworks and from the 1920s until 1994 were based at the TOC “H” Hut at the site of the present Band Hall in Moorland Road. Due to wise leadership in the past the freehold belongs to the current Verwood Concert Brass.

The name of the band became “Verwood Prize Band” in 1930 and the present name was adopted in 1976. The band became a registered charity in November 2011 – registration number 1144224
