They hold monthly networking meetings and are very active in the development of the town’s economy. Unlike many other towns, Christmas lights and activities are entirely run and paid for by Chamber members.

Swanage & District Chamber of Trade

www.swanagechamberoftrade.co.uk Swanage Information Centre won another award in the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards and now holds a Gold and Bronze Award for Visitor Information Service of the Year. Swanage Town Council has funded and refurbished the Information Centre and four of the twelve toilet blocks in the town. It is great to see in this current climate investment in facilities that give a better visitor experience for people visiting Swanage.

Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce

We’ve helped many people to find their feet in the local business community, by providing an environment where they can connect with likeminded people. In recent years we’ve represented the concerns of businesses to the local councils, contributing to a significant cut in the cost of car parking charges.

Poole Sea Cadets are amongst the best in the country

Poole Sea Cadets are once again celebrating being awarded a 2021 Burgee, which is the highest form of recognition that can be awarded to a Sea Cadet Corps Unit.

It recognises the hard work of the Volunteers, Cadets, and the Unit’s Management Team.

Sea Cadet Units are inspected annually and are graded from needing improvement, to exceeding the levels expected, the very good Units receive a “Pennant” award whilst the Units judged to be among the best are awarded a “Burgee”.

Officer in Charge, SLt (SCC) Reece Oliver RNR, proudly commented, “It’s great that Poole is recognised again as a high performing Unit with a 2021 Burgee.”

HealthBus Trust wins Healthcare Award!

The HealthBus Trust have won the Clinical Improvement Award for Public Health & Prevention 2021 Award, sponsored by Atrumed, at the General Practice Awards.

Since 2008, The General Practice Awards has sought to recognise the very best within the healthcare industry, seeking out the incredible work being carried out daily by our NHS heroes. This is now more poignant than ever. We know it has been challenging to strive for greatness, but equally challenging to operate business as usual with Covid-19 presenting so many difficulties to the healthcare community. Hundreds of inspiring entries are submitted each year, showcasing new initiatives, projects, and the individuals and teams who have worked tirelessly to maintain a consistent and thorough level of patient care in the face of adversity. The judges had the unenviable task of marking the entries and choosing the finalists.
