From Mandy Polkey, Festival Director
Hello and a huge sunny seaside welcome to you all! It gives me immense joy to welcome you to this year’s Clifftop Music Festival, set right here on the stunning Highcliffe cliffs. What a day we have planned – packed with music, fun, community spirit and sea air!
This year, we're pulling out all the stops with an incredible **headline performance from none other than ODYSSEY – the legendary disco, soul and funk band who brought us hits like “Native New Yorker” and “Use It Up and Wear It Out.” Get ready to dance your heart out!
We are deeply grateful to our Headline Sponsor – Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council – whose generous support has made this spectacular day possible. Their belief in local culture and community events is the reason we can deliver something so special, right here on our doorstep.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to our incredible volunteers from the Rotary Clubs, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. And of course, my gratitude to the dedicated team at Stir Events CIC – your passion and energy is what turns dreams into reality.
From the amazing bands, the fancy dress competition, delicious food & drink, and even the chance to meet a real-life mermaid, we hope you’ll enjoy every minute of this unforgettable day.
Thank you for joining us and being part of this celebration. Now let’s dance, sing, and make magical memories by the sea!
With love and gratitude, Mandy Polkey

Odyssey
Get ready for a legendary disco experience as the original band Odyssey headlines the Clifftop Music Festival 2025!
THE GLORY DAYS of Odyssey, one of the most successful soul/disco acts of their era, culminated in the early 1980s when they topped the charts with “Use It Up and Wear It Out”, plus several other Top 10 hits in Britain and around the world.
The group started out as “The Lopez Sisters” with Lillian, Louise, and Carmen.
After a five-month European tour, Carmen left the trio when they returned to the States, but Lillian and Louise resolved to continue and recruited Tony Reynolds as a replacement.
“Native New Yorker” from their debut album was an international hit in 1977.
Lillian’s eldest son, Steven Collazo, became part of Odyssey behind the scenes, recording as a background vocalist, session musician and musical director for their live shows and tours.
Later, the group cut their “Hang Together” album. It contained “Use It Up and Wear It Out”, which shot to number one in the UK charts, followed by “If You’re Looking For A Way Out”, “Inside Out”, and the Lamont Dozier classic “Going Back To My Roots”. Performing around the UK, Europe and The Middle East during the 80s and 90s, the journey continued. In 1994, Steven began to co-front the group and produce new versions of Odyssey classics while appearing with Lillian on television, touring arenas, top hotels, clubs, major holiday resorts and festivals throughout the UK and Europe.
The founder and first voice of Odyssey, Lillian Lopez-Collazo Jackson, died
in September of 2012. Louise Lopez passed away in January 2015.
Steven Collazo continues the family legacy, taking their “odyssey” upwards and upwards.
It’s said that “old school” is today’s “new school” and Steven’s been working to combine the best of both worlds into today’s Odyssey, introducing the band’s music to a new generation while remaining faithful to the group’s core audience.
With remixes in the works from superstar DJs such as Dimitri from Paris, Louie Vega, John Morales and many others, the journey continues into the 21st century while keeping an eye towards the classic sound which made Odyssey famous.
Versatile & Dynamic: No matter the occasion, DJ Dave’s dynamic presence and extensive repertoire make him a hit. Whether it's on the airwaves or the main stage, he knows how to engage and entertain. Join the countless fans who’ve danced, rocked, rolled and disco jived with DJ Dave Norrell. Tune in, turn up, and let the good times roll with the master of vintage vibes!
The Soul Sonics are a fresh and exciting 9 piece band with a set full of retro Soul and Motown classics, a good dollop of Northern Soul and a splodge of rare beauties of pure musical joy.
An energy-packed, authentic, fun-filled tribute to the one and only ABBA!
Sound of Soul is one of the South’s leading choirs performing at events and occasions around Dorset and Hampshire. They specialise in upbeat soul, Motown and pop classics. They love putting a smile on the faces of their audiences and hearing them sing along. Their friendly, new and unique approach to singing and entertainment is a little different to the more traditional classical or community choirs. They have entertained us wonderfully for the last two years so we look forward to hearing from them once more as they help to launch the festival!
Madison Heights Soul Band is a ten-piece, authentic soul band, who deliver an energetic and exciting performance of classic songs by the legends of soul and Motown.
