Grand Inspector General of the Year

The Grand Inspector General of the Year Award shall be presented to those Grand Inspector Generals who shall have exhibited a continuing willingness to devote their time and ability for the good of Scottish Rite Masonry and towards the promotion of the welfare of Scottish Rite Freemasonry within the Orient of Mississippi To be considered, nominations must be received by the Awards Committee before March 1 of each calendar year along with a Narrative and Biographical summary of your nominee’s Masonic History Your narrative should focus on accomplishments in Masonic Education, Leadership skills, living out the ritual in his daily life; also, and how he influenced and guided others in his Masonic journey Please include any additional information you feel is pertinent to help the committee basis their final consideration and selection. This must be forwarded to the Most Illustrious Commander-in-Chief for his approval prior to the Magnolia Council of Deliberation

The award shall be given in recognition of outstanding service to Masonry in general and Scottish Rite Masonry in particular The service shall have extended over the year The types of service to be recognized may include, among others:

(a) Frequent attendance at meetings, not only of the Consistory but all other Masonic bodies, especially the Blue Lodge

(b) Service on Committees.

(c) Proficiency in the ritual, as exemplified by frequent participation in opening and closing ceremonies and degrees

(d) Securing of petitions.

(e) Civic, patriotic, and religious activities

(f) Contributions to humanity in professional life.
