The President’s Award

The President’s Award for Educational Excellence recognizes and rewards educational excellence. The primary indicators of excellence are based on academic achievement. To qualify for this award, a graduating senior must have maintained a 3.5 grade point average or higher and scored 27 on the ACT or 1280 on the SAT. Diploma with Honors

Magnificat graduates are eligible for a diploma with honors as defined by the State Board of Education if they meet all but one of the following: 3.5+ GPA; 27 on ACT or 1280 on SAT; 4 credits of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies; 3 credits of World Language; and 1 credit of Fine Arts. Campus Ministry Awards The Mother Anna Tabourat Award Each year, the Mother Anna Tabourat award recognizes four seniors who have distinguished themselves as exemplary servant leaders in Campus Ministry’s service, social justice, retreats, and liturgy and prayer programming. Magnificat’s Highest Honors Commencement Speaker

Each year, the senior class selects the speaker whom they feel will best represent them at the annual Magnificat Commencement Ceremony.

Phi Beta Kappa Award The Phi Beta Kappa Award Program recognizes scholastic excellence. A single student from each graduating class is selected. The student is one who demonstrates qualities of academic honesty, inquiry into scholarship matters, a creative involvement in scholarship, and great interest in things of the mind. The student must be in the top 10% in achievement and be motivated by a love for learning.

Sister Mary Pat Cook, HM Leadership Award The Sister Mary Pat Cook, HM Leadership Award was initiated after her 35 years of ministry at Magnificat when she retired as principal. This award recognizes a senior who has distinguished herself as a leader within both Magnificat and the larger community. This recipient’s leadership, as was Sr. Mary Pat’s, inspires and is characterized by Gospel love and service, and Mary’s Magnificat spirit.

Nancy Powell Service Award The Nancy Powell Service Award is presented to a young woman who has demonstrated an unselfish, faith-filled commitment to others through her service activities at Magnificat and in the community over the past four years.
