Nestled in the heart of bustling Broadbeach’s Oracle Boulevard is new kid on the block and culinary trailblazer, kõst Bar and Grill. The wow-factor of its light and luxurious Mediterranean aesthetic with rendered walls, elegant marble finishes, and arches for days, is rivalled only by its gastronomic greatness.

Heroing premium local and domestic produce, farm fare, and sumptuous seafood, kōst’s trademark is its wood-fired wizardry thanks to the two-metre Mibrasa charcoal grill and oven. A palette-pleasing gamechanger and the first of its kind in Australia, it’s the ‘secret sauce’ cementing kōst as a foody fave. Accommodating up to 170 people, there’s a sophisticated cocktail bar, cocktail deck, indoor dining, a 12-seat private dining room, and plenty of outdoor dining options to soak up the summer breeze.

Dave Galvin is the visionary force behind kōst and other infamous GC nosheries like Mozza Mozza, Crafty’s Sports Bar, Bird Royale, and the soon to be Kirra Beach House. A hospitality legend with over 25 years’ experience and an all-round nice guy, he identified a gap in the market for an elevated bar and grill offering. Seamlessly weaving his passion for food, drink, design, and guest experience into the fabric of this establishment, it’s perfect for long lunches, date nights, drinks, and dancing.

The culinary helm is entrusted to Executive Chef Sebbie Keynon, whose expertise is the cornerstone of kōst’s gastronomic excellence. His impressive resume includes stints at hatted restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne, international ventures in Paris, London, and Moscow, and working alongside some illustrious household cheffing names.

With more signature dishes than you can poke a fork at, one visit here just isn’t enough. Enjoy the delicate flavours of the kōst Ceviche with a 72-hour citrus dressing, the delectable Rangers Valley 45-day dry aged T Bone straight off the wood fire and charcoal grill, and the XL Bay Bug. Featuring an oversized Moreton Bay bug on a harissa bisque with a fennel garnish, it’s as much a feast for the eyes as it is the tastebuds.

The resort-inspired cocktails are fruit forward, well balanced, and just as popular with the man folk as the ladies. Speaking of, Lady Luck is a best-seller and kōst’s take on a Lychee Martini with coconut water and kaffir lime. Another popular pick is the Coconut Fat Washed Negroni, with tropical notes contrasting deliciously with the bitter undertones.

In an era where culinary innovation knows no bounds, kōst Bar and Grill stands as a beacon of exclusive yet non-pretentious eats excellence on the Gold Coast. Already a firm favourite with locals and tourists alike, it serves up world-class coastal-inspired dining, with a hearty side of sensory immersion and it-girl vibes.
