Vision To enhance the utilization and application of various aspects of educational and information technology in Malaysia's education system

History Back in June 1987, the Ministry of Education Malaysia organised a convention on Educational Technology at the National Education Management Institute (now known as the Aminuddin Baki Institute). During this convention, Puan Seri Datin Hafsah Bt. Hj. Nasir, the Director of the Central Educational Distribution Division at the time, presented a paper that received enthusiastic responses from all participants. One of the outcomes of the convention was the proposal to establish the National Educational Technology Association. A pro tem committee, led by Associate Professor Puan Sri Dr. Rohana Zubir, was appointed to lay the groundwork and explore possibilities for the establishment of PTPM. Finally, on September 26, 1988, the Malaysian Educational Technology Association was officially established. The pro tem committee chairperson and several committee members were appointed as the permanent committee members of the newly formed META. As per the PTPM Constitution (1988), META operates as an independent professional organization with its registered address at the Educational Technology Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia, Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.

Objectives Encouraging the development of educational technology to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, training, and educational management.

Promoting research related to educational technology.

Facilitating the creation and production of diverse educational tools and resources.

Providing information dissemination facilities through print and non-print publications, keeping stakeholders informed about educational technology advancements.

Organising meetings, seminars, conventions, symposiums, workshops, and conferences to foster the exchange of ideas and perspectives among educational technology experts and members.

Collaborating with local and international organisations related to educational technology and participating in relevant conferences.

Organising visits to agencies related to educational technology and conducting exhibitions that highlight its importance.

Offering advisory and consultancy services in educational technology to relevant parties.

About IMETC IMETC History The International Malaysian Educational Technology Convention (IMETC) has been an annual gathering since its inception in 2007, with its inaugural event held in Johor Bharu.

Organized through a collaborative effort between the Malaysian Educational Technology Association (META) and the Ministry of Education, IMETC serves as a significant platform for educators, technologists, and stakeholders in the education sector to converge and exchange the latest advancements in educational technology. Beyond its longevity, IMETC stands out as a pivotal venue for disseminating edutech news and updates. Through engaging discussions, presentations, and workshops, the convention plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and enhancing the integration of technology in the Malaysian education landscape.

Even during the pandemic, PTPMMETA continued to organise IMETC and adapted its format to suit the situation, bringing the first ever hybrid-IMETC in history.

Standard High School Curriculum (KSSM) project for form three students in Design and Technology (RBT) is one of the mandatory components of Classroom Assessment (PBD).

Teachers must comply with and fulfill RBT's Product Production Content Standard requirements. The product manufacturing project included in the RBT subject in the secondary school syllabus poses challenges to the teachers as it requires additional teaching aids to facilitate a more effective understanding and practice of the process.

Therefore, this study aimed to identify the level of perceptions among teachers from ten secondary schools in Kulim district towards the usability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in designing and assisting RBT projects. This study uses a quantitative survey design method. An online questionnaire using Google Forms was given to teachers with more than 5 years of teaching experience in RBT. These participants were selected via purposive sampling. Twenty-two teachers agreed that AI technology could be used as a teaching aid in the RBT project. This study would suggest that RBT teachers must apply AI technology in the RBT project to enhance students’ understanding, thus fostering creativity. The implications of these findings call for relevant parties including teachers, researchers, and the Ministry of Education to consider the usability of AI in producing RBT projects.

This research explores the changing nature of education in the digital era, specifically examining teachers' readiness, attitudes, and beliefs towards the integration of digital technology in the classroom. This study seeks to comprehend how teachers adjust and react to the fast progress in educational technology and how these influences ways of teaching. The focus of this research is to address the discrepancy in the levels of readiness and attitudes of teachers when it comes to using technology into their teaching methods. Although there is an increasing focus on digital literacy, there is a notable disparity in how teachers embrace and effectively use new tools. This discrepancy is a possible obstacle to the consistent progress of digital education. Prior studies in this field have examined several aspects, such as the technical proficiency of teachers, the influence of digital resources on student involvement, and the evolution of conventional teaching approaches.

Nevertheless, there is still a lack of comprehension about the comprehensive perspective of teacher psychological preparedness and changes in attitudes towards these technological integrations. The research found that prior technology exposure, professional development, and organisational support affect teachers' digital integration readiness. Positive relationships were identified between teachers’ technological attitudes and classroom use of digital technologies. Teachers who actively learn and collaborate with peers are more likely to use technology efficiently. The incorporation of digital technology in education is an unavoidable progression in the teaching-learning framework. Nevertheless, the achievement of this integration mostly relies on the preparedness and dispositions of teachers. Hence, it is essential to cultivate a setting that promotes ongoing professional growth and fosters favourable dispositions towards the use of technology in education. This research emphasises the need of a holistic strategy that tackles the many issues encountered by teachers in adjusting to digital developments in education.

Memorizing al-Quran (Tahfiz) is the tradition study of the Muslims that began since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. To this day, the Tahfiz education has become one of the fast-growing fields of Islamic Studied. In 2014, the Ministry of Education of Malaysia (KPM) has incorporated the Integrated Curriculum Tahfiz (KBT) and the Model Tahfiz Ulul-Albab (TMUA) into primary education implemented in several National Religious Secondary Schools (SMKA) and Government Aid Religious Schools (SABK). Generally, the centres of Tahfiz study use traditional methods in teaching and learning. In response to KPM aspiration to maximize the use of technology in education, KPM teachers have implemented various initiatives such as producing digital learning materials, establishing smart classrooms, creating game-based learning applications.

Therefore, Tahfiz education that has been applied by the KPM to the global direction must be part of the aspiration in this simulation. There are many challenges in adapting technology in Tahfiz education, such as the readiness and skills of teachers and the lack of exposure to suitable technology. This paper aims to show how the use of technology can help basic activities in the process of memorizing al-Quran such as “Talaqqi Musyafahah”, “Tikrar”, “Murajaah” and “Verse Understanding”. This quantitative study uses the experiment as the design of the study. Two groups of Tahfiz students were assessed through two different approaches to the Quran memorization; traditional approach and technological approach to see the effectiveness in increasing the memorization skills and strength of the Quran. At the end of this experiment, students will be judged on the basis of reading quality and fluency of the memorization. The results of the experiment found that all two groups of Tahfiz students showed improved quality in terms of reading and memorizing after following a technological approach in their memorization process. The technological approach not only contributes to improving the quality of Quran memorization but transforms the classroom atmosphere into more fun and active learning.

Technology integration in education is undergoing a significant transformation, leading to dynamic and extensive changes in teaching and learning processes. Advancements in technology, global digital literacy, and changing societal and economic demands have driven the acceleration of this shift. The focus of this study is on addressing the gap between emerging technologies' potential and their integration into educational practices, particularly for preservice teachers lacking exposure and skills. It introduces the TPACK framework as essential for educators to integrate technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge effectively.

The study proposes an AI-TPACK-based program aiming to develop and evaluate an AI-predictive model to assess and enhance pre-service teachers' TPACK competencies, increase efficiency, and provide personalized learning opportunities.
