Welcome to our 2025 list, from the team at Magic Cat.

It’s five years since our very first book, Slow Down, was published, and what a journey it has been. From a launch list of five books and a team of five staff members, we’ve come a long way –all thanks to our team at Abrams and you, the fantastic booksellers who put our books in the hands of readers.

We now have a remarkable frontlist of more than 50 new titles planned for 2025, and our team has grown to over 28 members. Last year, we were thrilled to be crowned Children’s Publisher and Independent Publisher of the Year in the UK, as well as Small Press of the Year at the Bookseller Nibbies. But our story is just getting started. . .

So, dive into our catalog for some exciting new adventures and series launches in 2025. Embark on a fossil adventure with The Fossil Keeper’s Treasure, written by beloved paleontologist Amy Atwater. Make kitchen science magic with The Wizard’s Guide to Magical Experiments from New York Times bestselling author AJ Wood, creator of the million-copy bestselling Ology books. Foster your youngest cooks with the world’s best loved chef, Jamie Oliver, in this—his first learn-to-cook series for children.

From space to food to fossils, we have something for book lovers everywhere.

Love is all around the world. You can find it everywhere.

Journey around the world in this beautiful exploration of language that invites little learners into the many wonderful ways to say, share and show love.

In the Hawaiian language, people who love one another say, Aloha au iā 'oe.

Hawaiian is spoken in the Hawaiian islands in the Pacific. The Hawaiian alphabet has 13 letters: A, E, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, P, U, W and the 'okina ( ).

Spanish

To declare your love for someone in Spanish takes just two words: Te Amo.

In Hawaii, some people will give a

garland often made from fresh flowers

to a loved one to show affection.

You can make a lei for someone you love.

Cut flowers out of coloured paper or foam.

Spanish is the official language of 20 countries, and originated from Latin, the language of the Romans. Because of this, Spanish is called a Romance language.

Punch a hole in the middle of each one.

String your flowers onto a piece of string separating each one with a bead or small piece of paper straw.

Sharing a hug with a loved one is warm and cozy – like an Empanada, a yummy snack that originated in Galicia, Spain.

The word empananr means 'to wrap in bread', and a Galician empanada is made as one large pie, cut into smaller pieces to serve.

What filling would you like to have in your empanada? In Galicia, often the youngest guests get first pick!

What else can you make for someone you love?
