Magento Partial Payment Extension by MageComp facilitates customers to buy products just by paying down payment at the time of purchase and remaining amount to be paid later in easy installments.

1. Extension Installation Guide Go to My downloadable products. The file that you download normally is a zip or tgz file. It’s required to disable cache in the administration panel of your site. Go to System/Cache Management. Choose all caches and take action “Disable” then submit. Also disable the Compilation if it is ON. So make sure that Caching and Compilation is disabled before installing the extension, you can enable it again after the installation. Use FTP client (such as Filezilla, WinSCP, cuteFtp) to upload or copy all folders in the zip package to your Magneto site root folder. This will not overwrite any existing files, just add new files to the folder structure. You will need to install the extension in your custom theme if you are using. Just make sure about this files to be uploaded in custom theme. app/design/frontend/default/default to app/design/frontend/YourThemeFolder/PackageFolder After uploading is done, enable the Cache and if you keep Compilation On then re-run the Compilation. Navigate to System/Configuration, if you can see the extension tab, it is installed properly. Now if you get Access denied error when click on the extension tab, you need to log out admin panel and log in again. Go to front-end and try to process, make sure that everything is OK. 2. Configuration Once you have successfully installed the extension, go to Partial Payment Settings. Here you can find various settings to enable partial payment.

Enable Partial Payment: Set YES to enable partial payment. Apply Partial Payment for: Select option to apply partial payment on specific product, all products or whole cart as per your business need. Partial Payment Label: Set partial payment label to show on frontend to the customers. Enable Tooltip: Set partial payment label to highlight this on frontend Enable Label for Tooltip: Set partial payment label to display on store frontend. Enable Comments for Partial Payment on Product Page: You can set partial payment comment to display on frontend product page. Select Allowed Payment Methods: Select payment methods on which you want to allow your store customer to pay partially. Allow Guest Checkout: Set Yes to enable partial payment method for guest customers as per your need.

Partial Payment Fee: Set nonrefundable partial payment fee. Initial Partial Payment Fee: You can also set initial partial payment fee in percentage. Maximum No. of Installments: Set maximum number of installments allowed for customers to pay remaining amount. Installments Period Unit: Set installment period in days, weeks, months, years or no limit. Maximum Period for Installments: Set respective interval for customers to pay remaining amount.

Product Edit Tab Label: Set backend partial payment section label. Partial Payment Fee Label: You can also set initial partial payment fee label from here. Partial Payment Remain Amount Label: To denote remaining amount, you can set your own text.

3. Partial Payment Settings for Specific Product You can also configure product specific partial payment options by navigating to product backend else you can use default configuration.
4. Partial Payment in Frontend: Once you configure partial payment options from the backend, you can see option to buy product on partial payment.

5. Partial Payment in Backend: Store admin can also see list of orders that are placed using partial payment in backed grid along with order status.
6. Partial Payment in Customer Account Section: Once customer placed an order using partial payment method, they can see list of orders from their account section. Also, customer will able to get details information regarding order like due amount, total installments, paid installments as well as numbers of remaining installments and interval. Also, customer are free to make payment of remaining installments directly by clicking ‘pay installment’ button from their account section.

7. Deactivation of Extension in Case of Emergency Manually delete all the files and content from following folders in your Magento root: var/cache/* var/session/* Make sure you’ve uploaded all files from the downloaded package. Go to app/etc/modules/Magecomp_Partialpayment.xml and replace <active>true</active> with <active>false</active> Then repeat Step 1 and if something goes wrong, please contact us at https://www.magecomp.com/helpdesk or send us an email at helpdesk@magecomp.com 8. FAQs: What if I get “Access denied” error after installation of the extension? Whenever you get Access denied error while clicking on the extension tab after installation, log out admin panel and re-login. When I select Absolute price in product edit page from backend and save it, it goes blank, what should be problem here? Go to phpmamdin -> select database -> go to table "catalog_product_option_price" and increase the size of "price_type" field from7 to 9.
