ONLINE PROCESS You will be given access to our online mobilization portal, which will be the primary means of submitting any required information and working through the necessary steps to join.

APPLICATION The Application step consists of agreeing to our policies, answering application questions, starting a background and credit check, submitting several references, and your spouse (if applicable) beginning their own application. MEDICAL EXAMS You and your family (if applicable) will be required to complete comprehensive medical exams. These exams will be at your expense. CAREER STAFF CANDIDACY & SHORT-TERM STAFF/VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION Final acceptance into membership and field assignment occurs during this step. You will be responsible for all expenses except lodging which will be provided by MAF. POST ACCEPTANCE For Career Staff, Candidacy is immediately followed by the Ministry Partnership seminar and pre-field deputation (raising support). Career Staff Candidates then proceed to orientation, standardization, language school, and finally departure for the field. Short-Term Staff and Volunteers will be ready for departure after orientation.

QUALIFICATIONS In this step you will provide basic biographical information and we will provide you with all applicable education and training requirements. We also ask you to summarize your education and work history, upload a resume, and complete applicable skills grids.

QUESTIONNAIRES In the Missionary Questionnaire and Confidential Questionnaire we will ask for further information on your life story, relationships, finances, and Christian experiences. As the name implies, sensitive topics are reserved to the Confidential Questionnaire and shared only with individuals in select leadership positions.
EVALUATIONS You and your spouse (if applicable) will come to Nampa for evaluations with the appropriate managers and interviews with MAF leadership. Additionally, you will meet with a psychologist at our expense. You will be responsible for all other expenses except lodging which will be provided by MAF. Pilots and mechanics will incur additional costs for flight time and shop time.
RAISING SUPPORT With help from MAF’s Ministry Partnership department, you will develop your ministry support team of individuals, churches, and groups to provide encouragement, prayer support, and 100% of your financial backing.
