Ideal city in Athens
My pupils dream of an ideal city(They are 8 years old.)We played a game:''I DO CARE!'' So,we made a puzzle that had 16 pieces.I n the 12 pieces they wrote about things they don't want an ideal city to have. In the 4 of the pieces they wrote: 'I DO CARE!'I was very surprised to hear their ideas. They focused on humans. They wrote: 1.Sad faces 2.There are a lot of poor people around me,people who beg for their food. 3.Poor, homeless refugees 4.There is no free space on the pavement. There are cars all over the place. So,disabled people cannot move easily. 5.We would like to learn music, dancing, painting. We want more cultural centres in town. 6.There are a lot of exhaust fumes in the air because of the cars. 7.There is rubbish everywhere. 8.The slide in the playing ground is broken. 9.There are not a lot of parks 10.You have to pay a lot of money if you want to go to a private hospital 11There are a lot of cars . 12.You will pay a lot of money if you want to go to the theatre. After all these ,they decided that an ideal city could be like this: 1.Happy faces everywhere! 2.No poor people,no beggars. 3.Every refugee must have a house and a work as well. 4.Free spaces ,so all people can move easily. 5.More cultural centres. 6.Bicycles everywhere. 7.Clean city 8.More playing grounds. 9.Many green parks all over the city. 10.Hospitals must offer free service. 11.Not so many cars.Bicycles(!) 12.Cheap tickets for theatres, football games, etc. Anna
