WELCOME TO THE 44th NORDIC DAIRY CONGRESS ADDING VALUE

Søren Jensen President of Nordic Dairy Council

and All-Time High Food Safety from both the academic world as well as the industry. Furthermore, it is a great honour for us to introduce our keynote speaker Peder Tuborgh who is the CEO of Arla Foods amba. The programme has been designed with an international approach ensuring a global outreach, which is stressed with the conference language entirely in English. As a new input, we have invited 12 researchers to present their work in flash-talks and the conference finalizes with a panel debate of specially invited and eloquent speakers who bring perspective to the newly achieved knowledge.

The 44th Nordic Dairy Congress brings together prominent speakers from around the world within the areas of Green Solutions, Healthy Dairy Products, Improving Efficiency

June 7-9 2017 in Copenhagen

The conference will take place in the very heart of Copenhagen in an ancient building that is also host to the Danish Agriculture & Food Council. We are very excited to share Adding Value to dairy with you and we have made sure to add extra value to the conference with delightful sightseeing through the canals of Copenhagen and evening events of atmosphere for networking and reconnection with likeminded passionate dairy fellows. Again:

Very welcome!

www.nordicdairycongress.com

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to participate in what we anticipate to become an innovative and insightful journey through the state of the art within dairy with a focus on ADDING VALUE. Adding Value must be understood as adding value to the entire value chain: to consumers, environment and dairy plants as well as producers.

Velkommen, welcome, tervetullut, velkomið, velkommen, välkommen

Grith Mortensen Danish Agriculture & Food Council

So, adding value to our products – one way or another – is imperative to stay in business. Based on this, the overall theme of the conference is Adding Value and the aim is to cover this aspect from different angles throughout the programme and specifically in the parallel sessions which focus on Improving Efficiency, All-Time High Food Safety, Green Solutions and Healthy Dairy Products. The ambition is to convert the newest research results in these areas into applicable solutions for the industry.

www.nordicdairycongress.com

We are really looking forward to welcoming you to wonderful Copenhagen in June and to introducing you to the programme of the conference.

Milk is a valuable and scarce resource and it is our task to make sure that we get the highest value out of it. The way to get there is by increasing the value of the products reaching the consumers and customers so that it is clear to them that the functional and nutritional properties of dairy products are second to none and a vital part of a healthy diet. Furthermore, consumers look for products that are safe and have as little environmental impact as possible. Satisfied customers and consumers is obviously a benefit for both the farmers, dairies, universities and other knowledge institutions as well as all the suppliers to the dairy industry.

We have invited top speakers from the Nordic countries and around the world, and as a new feature at this congress, we are introducing 10-min flash talk sessions to give you a flavour of brand new results from the research labs. Besides, we will have a panel discussion on adding value, a sponsors’ corner that gives the sponsors a chance to show how they add value to the business, and a strong social programme that allows time to connect with old and new friends. We hope to see you in Copenhagen for the 44th Nordic Dairy Congress. On behalf of the Programme Committee, Grith Mortensen.
