Carnival of the Animals • Children and adults alike will enjoy this whimsical ballet set to the music of Camille Saint-Saens. Local favorites, Ron Roberts and Wilson Luquire will narrate the humorous verses inspired by this popular piece. Choreographers, Phillip Otto, Rachel Butler, and Cathy Curry collaborated to create stylized choreography for the different animals showcased in the work.

Moral Virtue • A new work by Artistic Director, Phillip Otto, this piece is inspired by a classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement.

Images Unconfined • This new work by Stephanie Braly-Beutjer set to music by Karl Jenkins was inspired by the many dancers she’s taught over the past 25 years in Images Dance Ensemble at Grissom High School.

The first annual Dead Parrots Society Bash will be held at the locally owned Black Patch Distillery on October 30. It will be a night of Halloween fun with music, dancing, and the chance to dress up and be who you want to be. Food will be available from a number of locally known food trucks and adult beverages will include beer, wine, and a special event signature drink from a cashless bar. Plan your Halloween weekend to be at the first ever Dead Parrot Society Bash. The event is organized by Madison Rotary Club and the proceeds will go to support the renovation of Madison Kid’s Kingdom and other projects.

Fantasy Playhouse’s lineup of shows will generate an exciting return to the stage at the Playhouse of the Von Braun Center. Season tickets now are on sale for two of the most popular stories in children’s fantasy, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Alice in Wonderland,” along with the traditional favorite, “A Christmas Carol.” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” will be presented Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., Oct. 16 and Oct. 17 at 1 and 6 p.m. “Dr. Osborn’s Magical Laboratory” will reprise its excitement for two shows on Oct. 23 at 2 and 5 p.m. “A Christmas Carol” shows will be available on Dec. 3-5 and on Dec. 10-12. Fantasy Playhouse will stage “Alice in Wonderland” on Feb. 18-20.
