We asked and you answered! Starting way back in June we asked our readers who they thought the best businesses in Dodge County were. You did not disappoint. Over 670 businesses/ people were nominated across 135 categories.

The goal of Dodge County’s Best is to give local businesses a platform to promote themselves and to start a discussion amongst our readers of what their favorite businesses are in each category. Our hope is that readers discovered some new local businesses they’d like to try. In that sense, I think every business that was nominated is a winner.

In the end, 5,329 people cast 185,636 votes to decide the best business in each category. Being voted Dodge County’s Best is not only a well-deserved “thank you” to those who truly care for their customers. In 1936 John C Stavropoulos took over. Now his son, Christos G Stavropoulos the second is in charge. His daughter Katina A Stavropoulos is waiting in the wings and it will be hers. What makes you stand out from the competition? The knee-jerk answer is the lake because we are the only restaurant/pub on Lake

Sinissippi. However, I don’t like to use the word “competition” as it suggests an adversarial relationship. I prefer to consider us collaborators. There’s plenty of room in the sandbox, and it takes cooperation between businesses to succeed in and for our town.
