Dear Friends, Welcome to the 57th Annual Christmas Tree Ball! I am grateful for your participation in tonight’s event, which is Madison’s premiere annual fundraiser. It means the world to us that you have taken the time to celebrate with us, learn more about Madison and support so many New York City young people who need us now more than ever.

We are thrilled to celebrate our 140th anniversary in 2024! This milestone underscores the vital role our Clubs have played for generations of our city’s youth. Our Clubhouses offer access to opportunities, mentorship and experiences that are crucial for success. They are places where young individuals can dance, play sports, get homework help and develop their resume. They are hubs for learning, growth and leadership.

Tonight, you will see how Madison has continually risen to meet the challenges of the moment, ensuring that we provide relevant opportunities for our members and their families. Our youth and alumni will showcase talents nurtured at the Club. They will share how the Club made a difference in their lives and how they have unlocked their potential.

Most importantly, we acknowledge that we cannot achieve this alone. Now, more than ever, we need advocates, donors and champions like you. We extend our heartfelt thanks to this year's event co-chairs, Trevor Fennell and Kristina Hunt, and to the entire Event Committee for making this celebration possible. Gratitude also goes to our Members of the Corporation and Board. And a special thank you to you — your presence tonight contributes significantly to helping us meet this moment.

Perla Flores Perla is a Madison alum and a 2019 Youth of the Year representing the John E. Grimm III Clubhouse in the Bronx. Perla first attended the Club in 2007 and grew up at Madison. Participating in countless programs including dance, Perla credits the Clubhouse with building her confidence and helping her develop into a well-rounded individual. She is a 2023 graduate of SUNY New Paltz and is currently a sustainability intern at Richemont, a luxury goods group.

Joshua Lebrun Josh is a Madison alum and a 2014 Youth of the Year representing the Thomas S. Murphy Clubhouse in Brooklyn. He holds a bachelor’s in Biology and an MBA in Finance. Josh is a small business buyer acquiring profitable businesses that generate under five million in revenue. Today, he works for the New York State government as a health budget analyst.

His primary occupation interest is to further his career in corporate development. In his free time, Josh loves playing instruments (ukulele and piano), being a photographer, studying and practicing martial arts, reading, meeting new people and going on new adventures.

Nahomi Zambrano Ruiz Nahomi is a Madison alum of the Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse in the Bronx.

Nahomi came to the United States in hopes of better opportunities in 2009 with her family “starting from zero.” Nahomi received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Jewish Studies from the City College of New York.

Nahomi is now a Police Officer in the City of New York, and she has lived by the quote: “I never lose. I either win or learn. My pain was temporary, my respect was gained and my experience will never be forgotten.”

Guest Performer

Huchela DelaCruz Huchela is a Madison alum of the John E. Grimm III Clubhouse in the Bronx. Now performing under her stage name Huchela the Voice, with Madison, Huchela has performed at Citi Field and Radio City Music Hall. In the photo on the right, you can see her performing at Christmas Tree Ball in 2013.
